Chapter 379 Definite Bliss
"Woah. Fina really did give her best for this."
The venue was one of the largest stadiums in the capital. However, to match the formal event, it underwent an extreme makeover. Now, the stadium looks like a round, fortified, small castle!
At the front, a long line of visitors is already forming, separated by the "common" and "VIP" entrances. With one glance, it was easy to count over a thousand individuals—an astounding attendance rate!
"The girls did go all out with advertising, it seems."
After seeing the line, I began wondering where I should enter, before I noticed the girl's presence somewhere.
"A side entrance?"
Following their presence, I circled about a quarter of the stadium and found Yu Na wearing a cocktail dress, standing in attention. Wait, wasn't she wearing her usual attire earlier...?
"You're late by 50 seconds, President. We should get going."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWithout waiting for me to reach her, she left those words before turning around. I guess she expects me to follow behind her?
Yu Na walked ahead, passing by a few doors where I could feel everyone's presence beyond. Just as I was about to knock on one of the doors to check up on them, a hand landed on my shoulder.
"President, the girls are still changing, so better not disturb them. We should head to the stage first."
I could feel a slight bloodlust in her gaze, as if she were warning me not to try and peek. Well, although I'm curious, I'll be seeing them in a few minutes, after all, so I did as told and went further into the stadium.
Soon enough, we exited the hallway without straying from the straight path. There was a large, glamorous stage in the middle. The dirt floor of the arena was also changed into sparkling white marble with a matching red carpet, enough that I felt bad stepping on it with my dirty shoes.
Before the stage, there are roughly five hundred chairs arranged in a cocktail-style reception, with about ten to twelve chairs around one round table. Everything was so well spaced that one could even stretch their arms on their seats or lean back without bothering the next person.
"Those must be the VIP seats... Then, the common seats are..."
I turned to face the audience seats. Their form was as is, but instead of plain concrete, the stands were covered in expensive-looking cloths and a small, soft cushion to sit on, with sashes to separate each block.
Although it used to be an arena, you wouldn't link it with one, seeing what it currently looks like. When I turned to look up, the open sky was sparkling with stars as a few light sources flew around the place at a slow, non-dizzying pace.
"President, please hurry up. The guests will be flooding in soon."
I guess staring around in awe like this would end up delaying the reception, so I continued toward the stage. There, a single throne was erected in the middle, looking all grand and dignified. Yu Na led me to the said throne and stood by its side after I sat down.
"Whew..."
I breathed loudly, trying to calm myself down. It's not that I'm nervous or anything, alright? Just that my excitement wasn't helping me out.
As Yu Na said, as soon as I sat down, the doors leading to the entrances opened. The VIP guests flooded in, filling up the empty seats from the front to the back in just a couple of minutes. Even the stands were already half full! Just how many guests did we get?
Although it may seem unfair, only the VIP guests were served food, while the common guests were only here to watch. At most, they would be given free snacks, though. But that's for later.
About ten minutes in, the audience seats were finally filled to the brim. Seeing the headcount, excluding the seats left empty as spacers, there are roughly 50 thousand guests present in the entire arena. It was too many, I say.
"These are only half of those who managed to come early, while the rest could only stand in the watching rooms, looking at the live relay using the broadcast crystals."
As if reading my mind, Yu Na explained in a low voice. Does that mean this wasn't even all of them yet? I'm happy that everyone's interested in this engagement, but I became worried at the same time. If something bad happened, then the lives of a hundred thousand citizens would be at risk.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"The security of the entire capital is raised to maximum, with God Zeshion and Goddess Vermeil patrolling nearby for safety. There's nothing that could happen."
Yu Na explained, but in my mind, her words only raised a flag.
Suddenly, she checked the time on her watch and nodded towards me. I guess that means it's about time to start the ceremony. Of course, before the ceremony began, the presence of the girls was a necessity.
The side entrance, where I came out, opened wide. From there, angels flooded in, walking at a gentle pace as their beauty took the breaths of everyone looking.
Although everyone was wearing the same Victorian-style panniered white dress, each of them exuded their personal flavor of beauty and cuteness mixed as one. Looking at them, even I had my mouth hanging open.
While I was out of it, everyone had already come up to the stage and taken the chairs surrounding me. To my right, there's Ember, Igni, Fina, Hekate, and Judy, while to my left, there's Princess Hazel, Fang, Fatima, Minerva, and Yorm.
All of them sat quietly with thin smiles on their faces.
"Everyone, welcome to today's engagement ceremony!"
Yu Na began to talk, taking the reins as the emcee of the event. Her voice, although she wasn't shouting, was reaching all the corners of the entire stadium, as if it were magic.
Of course, I couldn't focus on what she was saying, as all I could think of was the unexpected beauty of the girls around me. However, at the same time, I could also feel the faint killing intent coming from the stands.
"..."
It wasn't some sort of terrorist organization planning to ruin the event, but more like the envious men who were staring daggers at me. Well, what can I say? Being popular sure does earn quite a lot of hate.
