Meanwhile, in the capital city of Norway, Jarvis had already bid farewell to Zeba and was now sitting in a local bar
drinking.
For the past few days, he had been traveling all the way from Bergen, hoping to uncover any leads related to the
missing cavalry guards, but thus far, his search had yielded no results.
Back in Bergen, he had considered two directions to pursue.
As he was not a member of the cavalry guards, he had the option to investigate their whereabouts after they
disappeared from Bergen, or to explore any special circumstances that may have led to their arrival in Bergen in
the first place.
Naturally, the former option was the better one, as it was only by locating the missing guards that he could
determine who had saved Maria.
As for the latter option, Jarvis could only hope that there were some suspicious issues within the cavalry guards
themselves.
Otherwise, pursuing that line of inquiry would likely be a waste of time.
Thus, he focused his efforts on the former option, scouring through Northern Europe for several days, even
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇttraveling as far as Oslo City.
Yet despite his efforts, he still had not uncovered any leads.
Feeling disheartened, he decided to drown his sorrows at a nearby bar.
However, just as he was beginning to feel a bit tipsy, his phone suddenly buzzed with a message from an unknown
virtual number.
The message was short and to the point, “The meeting will be held in half an hour.”
With reluctance, Jarvis settled his tab at the bar, leaving two banknotes under his empty glass, before making his
way back to his hotel.
Once there, he freshened up and promptly opened a special app on his phone at the designated time.
Upon opening the app, he entered his password, followed by facial recognition and voice recognition.
Once all that was done, the system automatically pulled his account into the online meeting room.
At that moment, his phone screen displayed five small screens, with one in the middle and the remaining four
distributed on the four corners of the phone screen.
However, three of the five screen frames were completely black, indicating that they had not yet been connected.
Only two people had joined the call so far: himself, who appeared in the upper right corner of the real- time screen,
and an old man with a white beard in the upper left corner.
Upon seeing the white-bearded old man, Jarvis respectfully bowed and greeted him with a smile.
“Gideon, where are you, old man?”
“Eastcliff,” Gideon Alastair replied with a light tone.
In a rush, Jarvis asked, “Did you get any clues to find Maria?”
Gideon shook his head, his words still precious.
“No…”
Jarvis stretched his waist, let out a yawn, and commented, “Oh… This girl is really cunning!”
As he spoke, the lower left corner of the screen showed that someone had joined the call, and the face of a middle-
aged man appeared on the screen.
Jarvis stretched out his hand to greet the man.
“Landon, don’t you enjoy life in New York?”
Landon Prescott smiled and replied, “I am here to solve problems for the Lord.
It’s the same everywhere.”
As they spoke, the screen in the lower right corner lit up, and Zeba appeared on the screen.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe appeared to be sitting alone on a business jet.
Upon seeing her, Jarvis inquired, “Where are you headed, Zeba?”
Zeba responded calmly, “I’m going to the Far East.
The land is sparsely populated, which meets the requirements for Maria to hide.”
Jarvis was taken aback and asked, “Going to the Far East? Why didn’t you inform us beforehand?”
Zeba replied nonchalantly, “You and I have different destinations, so it doesn’t matter whether I inform you or not,
Jarvis.”
Just as Jarvis was about to say something else, the screen in the middle suddenly lit up, causing all four people’s
expressions to turn to terror.
They immediately fell silent.
The previously pitch-black screen had turned into a white light, and no other objects or outlines were visible.
Shortly after, they heard a voice that had been processed by a voice changer, asking coldly, “What is the
progress?”
