432 “....It’s just a simulation...
The red desert sand got into his eyes making them watery. They were in a hazy mess he staggered to his feet and stumbled a little while staring at the hovercraft. His heart suddenly twisted painfully like someone important was in that wreckage.
Zi Han’s eyes reddened further his mind now confusing reality with fiction. At this moment this was more than just a simulation but his reality.
His body trembling he stared at the dense glass shards shimmering under the orange sun. he had to find a way to go around it and save whoever was inside that hovercraft. After a quick scan of the steep slope, he found that the other side of the hovercraft was touching the sandy slope.
Zi Han’s listless eyes brightened slightly as he dashed over to that side. His feet sank into the sand as he walked over to the other side. When he got there he found what should have been thrusters on the ground. He stepped on them and steadied himself before rushing towards the cockpit.
Just as he was about to wipe the sand on the windshield which was blocking his view of the inside, a sizzling spark touched something and almost blew him off the hovercraft. If it weren’t that his foot was caught on something leaving him hanging upside down with his eye a few inches from a sharp glass shard he would be chopped to pieces right now.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHis chest heaved rapidly as he looked at the drop of sweat dripping from his forehead to the tip of the sharp obsidian shard of glass. Zi Han hastily climbed up and rushed over to wipe away the sand off the windscreen but his heart dropped when he saw who was inside.
Yi Chen was sitting in the pilot seat with the belt fastened. Zi Han’s blood froze especially when he saw the piece of rusted metal protruding from his chest. droplets of blood were dripping down on his boot with a loud patter before falling into the pool of blood.
“Noooooo!” screamed Zi Han as he engaged his mental power trying to shatter the glass. He tried to wake him up but no matter how much he yelled it was futile.
The sizzling sparks around him increased and grew even more aggressive. Zi Han was beginning to panic so much that his brain short-circuited. The person who could approach any situation calmly was now in a chaotic mess with his emotions showing on his face.
.....
The sparks ignited the fuel and a loud explosion followed and Zi Han was thrown a few feet his body buried in the sandy slope. His ears were ringing and his eyes were seeing doubles before they closed and he fell into darkness.
Meanwhile, Zi Xingxi turned her head slowly and met the former marshal’s gaze with a menacing glint in her eyes.
Yi Zhen licked his chapped lips and subconsciously took a step back. Did he go too far? He asked their chief programmer to design the simulation to be as stimulating as possible but he didn’t think Li Ran’s mother would take things this far. She was merely following orders but yes, now he could see why he should have been more detailed in his description.
“Are you fuckin kidding me?... If my son comes out of this with PTSD I will fucking kill you.... understood,” threatened Zi Xingxi her body trembling with anger.
They thought now that the simulation was over Zi Han would come out of it but they were wrong. The doors didn’t open neither did the light get restored in the simulation room. It remained dark inside and the floating display changed with the prompt “simulation initiating... please be on standby”.
Everyone, “...”
“I I will deactivate it,” stammered Yi Zhen while stepping up to the console.
His adam’s apple rolled as he typed in the deactivate command with his trembling fingers. He was suddenly afraid that something would truly happen to Zi Han. If that happen then even if he jumped into the Yangtze river it wouldn’t wash him clean.
He inputted the code and pressed the enter key but nothing happened. Zi Feiji’s chest tightened as he walked forward to take a look. The tension in the room intensified with everyone hovering at the edge of their seats. “Why isn’t it working? Did you input the code wrongly?” asked Zi Xingxi clutching the man’s collar but Yi Zhen raised his hands with a defeated look on his face while shaking his head.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“Type it in again,” she commanded her tone making it hard to refuse.
He began to frantically type but the system gave him a prompt that this action couldn’t be processed. While he was inputting the code again the floating screen lit up and the simulation started again. Zi Han was lying flat on the sand unmoving.
“Han Han,” called out Zi Xingxi softly after repressing her violent emotions threatening to burst forth.
Zi Han who was out of it suddenly opened his eyes lazily with half his face lying on the sand. He clenched his fingers lightly while trying to recall where he was.
His head was aching but he ignored it as he raised his head. He tried to recall his last memory when he heard his mother’s voice speaking to him in a soothing tone.
“... It’s just a simulation
. I promise I will get you out, okay? Just just calm your mind,” she said but Zi Han could barely understand what she was saying.
He sat up and looked around. His face suddenly sank when he recalled where he was and what had happened. His eyes widened and he suddenly became hysterical.
“Chen-ge!” he yelled as he got up to his feet and suddenly began to run in that direction. The ground on his feet began to shake.
Zi Han didn’t dare look behind. He kept running with one thing on his mind. While he ran through the cloud of dust the creature stirred up the ground, Yi Zhen quickly contacted Li Wei. Lynn Feng was typing away fast but even she wasn’t making any progress.
