561 Amazonian ready for war
“You kid, am I that type of person in your eyes? Am I so ideal that I would cut your access so you can bother me all day?” she said and she was right. Without StarNet her kids would turn to her for entertainment.
“Uh uh don’t blame your mother. When there is a storm in the northern hemisphere it messes with the connection. The storms rarely happen though so it will be back on soon,” said Grandpa Lin and the internet addict Yi Youxi almost cried tears of blood.
“When is soon? An hour, two hours... ten hours? I can’t survive that long. I will die from boredom,” he said as panic sat in.
“We can play a game, yay!” said Ming Ming and the adults could all agree.
“How about we play baseball?” asked Leo Lin (cousin Lin) but a lot of heads shook no.
Complaints like it’s too hot or I can’t run echoed in the air. “How about we go swimming?” asked uncle Lin but it was Ming Ming’s idea that took the trophy.
“Water balloon fight. We can have two teams and whoever wins won’t have to cook till we go back,” she said and the girls who had been doing most of the cooking scoffed.
“We have been doing the cooking anyway so what’s the point?” said Lin Lin Ruoxi and Yi Youxi came up with a better idea.
“The losing team cooks and get to perform any act of the winning team’s choosing on the last night. Mum, I bet someone offended you and you would like to get back at them,” he said while winking and nudging in his dad’s direction.

“Okay then, it’s a plan,” said Zi Xingxi and everybody seemed on board except Yi Zhen. He wanted to be on the same team as his wife but his wife had a score to settle.
“So wife, we will be in the same team,” said Yeoh Jun draping his arm around Zi Xingxi but his wife didn’t cooperate with him.
“Ah no, I have a score to settle with you so why would we be in the same team? Han Han, are you in? With two snipers, I don’t think your father’s team will stand a chance,” she said and Zi Han high-fived her hand before turning to his grandfather.
“Grandpa Zi, are you joining our team m?”
“Hmph... I am too old for that. I will be the judge and the bartender,” he said and grandpa Lin agreed with him.
“I will bring out snacks so you guys have at it,” said grandma Lin and thus the afternoon was decided.
Two hours later Zi Han was stretching his arms getting ready for war when Yi Chen walked over with a bottle of water.
He unscrewed the cap open and handed it to him only for Zi Xingxi to yell, “Han Han, no fraternising with the enemy!”
Yi Chen, “...”
“Ma said no,” said Zi Han while giving back the flask bottle shaped like a panda.
Yi Chen took it back while saying, “I chilled it for you and the temperature is perfect for this heat. Why wouldn’t you accept my good intentions?”
Zi Han chuckled softly as he took a step forward to whisper in his ear. “You think I don’t know that you want to poach me? Not gonna happen,” he said and intentionally or unintentionally brushed his lips on Yi Chen’s ear lobe.
Zi Han took the bottle bag and said, “You better bring all you got baby,” before turning to leave.
Yeoh Jun ran over after that and asked, “Did he say yes?”
Yi Chen, “...”
Ming Ming who had decided to be in her father’s team took out her mother’s lipstick that she took who knows when and asked to draw two stripes on their faces.
“Ming-er, we don’t need to do all that,” said Yi Zhen wondering why she even chose to be in their team. He honestly thought she would go and partner up with her mother. She was just going to be a liability. It’s not that he was discriminating against his daughter but that his daughter was terrible at throwing and aiming. His wife was exceptional at it but his daughter... she was not good at any sport which he didn’t mind. It’s just that now that she was on his team it was a very big problem.
What he didn’t know was that she was going to but Yi Youxi somehow convinced her to join their dad’s team. That is because Yi Youxi already knew that his mother’s team was going to win. He could feel it deep in his bones thus he wanted to be with the winning team at any cost.
“We have to do it. It’s a tactic for players to intimidate their opponents. Now please lower your head dad and let me do this,” she said and Yi Zhen had no choice but to lower his head.
The four men had red lipstick on their cheeks which looked rather comical but seeing the smile on Ming Ming’s face they let it slide.
“Happy now?” asked Uncle Lin wishing he could wipe it off.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmMing Ming nodded her head happily before giving the lipstick to her uncle.
“Uncle draw it for me. Two for each side,” she said and who in their right mind wouldn’t say yes to that face?
With their lipstick on, the team of men and a little girl walked to the huge dish filled with colourful balloons.
“Babe, you owe me a new lipstick. Your daughter used it on your faces so you should reimburse me,” said Lin Rouxi and Yi Zhen nodded while smiling happily glad that his wife was actually talking to him. This was better than being ignored. ”
“I will buy you another one Babe,” he said then she retorted back,
“You better. Now get ready to eat my dust.”
Yi Youxi couldn’t help but stand in front of his mom and reprimanded her. “Mum, no fraternising with the enemy,” he said and she gasped with a look of you kid, that’s not fraternising.
“I was trash-talking,” she said and Yi Youxi shook his head saying,
“That wasn’t even remotely close to trash-talking.”
“Yea, that sounded more like flirting than trash-talking,” said Zi Xingxi enlightened by her best friend.
“Then how would you say it?” she asked and Zi Xingxi was eager to demonstrate.
“Your posture should be intimidating and intense like this. And then you say ‘you will eat my dust you cheeky bastard’ like that.”
“Yikes, that’s harsh,” said Lin Ruoxi but when she finally said it it felt so good and empowering in a weird way that she couldn’t stop trash-talking her husband. Was this what sports felt like? She felt like an amazonian ready to go to war.
