592 “I can dance better than you,”
Zi Han had never cared much about music in other words he listened to music but he never followed the artists on StarNet or became an active fan. This meant, it had to be his very first concert and he wasn’t at all displeased.
The music was good, and the crowd was excitable but the highlight of it all was watching Ming Ming excitedly screaming at the top of her lungs while waving two light sticks in the VIP lounge.
In fact, she wanted to be down there with everybody else but her father put his foot down citing security concerns.
Ming Ming could only settle for this and the price thereof was the former Marshal’s ears almost bled. Worse of, he couldn’t say anything because that was the purpose of them being here. This was a safe space where she didn’t have to be restrained but laugh, cry and scream to her heart’s content and nobody was allowed to stop her.
Zi Han felt like her figure appeared a little lonely so he got up with the light stick provided by the event manager for VIP guests and stood next to her. He didn’t know their songs but the tune was catchy thus he sang with her.
Yi Chen couldn’t help but laugh as he watched his fiance lip-synch badly. He wasn’t lip-synching along with the lyrics and he was lagging behind which was funny. Zi Han didn’t notice that Yi Chen was laughing at him. He was following along with the dance that Ming Ming was doing. Well, she was following what the band members were doing and she was surprisingly good at it.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSeeing that Zi Han had joined her she was so happy that she laughed more. Her smile was incredibly infectious that Yi Youxi who had initially intended to endure this torture by playing games was suddenly interested.
His head bobbed to the steps they were doing and he suddenly wanted to try it too. Like the quiet kid in the dance circle he rushed in separating the two before doing a perfect spin with his hand stretched out.
Zi Han stifled his laugh so hard that he couldn’t help but bend down with his hands covering his mouth, his cheeks almost bursting.
.....
As the song was reaching an end, Yi Chen chuckled before saying to Yi Youxi, “You look like you are having a seizure. If you want we can call a doctor for you.”
Yi Youxi, “???”
“What does having a seizure even look like? You are just jealous you can’t dance like me. You are as stiff as an old-generation housekeeping robot,” said Yi Youxi throwing it back at his brother twofold.
Yi Chen picked up the chibi plush of Akito which he wanted to tear its head off earlier and threw it at the laughing Yi Youxi. Zi Han who knew that his fiance wasn’t as stiff as he was saying pursed his lips and said nothing. Anyone who could move his waist and hips like Yi Chen was not stiff at all.
“I can dance better than you,” he said and Yeoh Jun couldn’t help but intervene.
“You two should just have a dance battle. In fact, all of you Yi men and boy should show us what you got,” he said and Zi Han couldn’t agree more.
He walked over to Yi Chen while twisting the cap of his water bottle. He patted Yi Chen’s shoulder and said, “Baby, I want you to dance on our wedding day so you better practice now.”
Yi Chen glanced up at him and asked, “So you think I can’t dance? Is that it?”
Zi Han showed an I will believe you when I see it look before taking a sip. He didn’t answer but everybody else including his father shook their heads while humming a big no.
Yi Chen was a little surprised that all of them didn’t believe he could dance. Since Yi Youxi had gone after him he also went after Yi Zhen. Pass it over to his father, right?
“You are shaking your head like that yet you are the stiff one,” he said to Yi Zhen but Yi Zhen let out a snort.
“Do you know that your grandfather was a dance fanatic? After years of enduring him dancing all around the house I was forced to adapt. Come on, the man even danced in Hydra in a live broadcast after he defeated the interstellar pirates,” he said and Yeoh Jun showed an enlightened expression as he recalled that video.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“Yeah, I remember that. What did they call him again? The dancing Marshal,” he said and Yi Youxi who had never heard this story was suddenly interested but before he could ask to see the video, Ming Ming said,
“Then dad and dage can dance with me. The next one is starting.”
Yi Chen glanced at Zi Han again and said, “You will never doubt me again.”
Zi Han snorted softly before saying, “I will believe it when I see it.”
Yi Chen gazed at him affectionately with a tad bit of haughtiness in his eyes. He was going to prove him wrong and show them what dancing was.
Ten seconds later Zi Han’s jaw dropped while Yeoh Jun cheered them on. Who knew that the former Marshal and current Marshal could dance? Yi Chen could even sing the lyrics and his voice wasn’t bad at all.
Why could he sing the songs? It was because, from the day Ming Ming discovered the Kao boy band, she had been playing the songs on repeat in the lounge so everybody could hear it even when upstairs.
She would also come to him asking for him to listen to it and tell her his opinion so yes, he knew their songs back to back.
Zi Han just couldn’t believe that this was his man. This person who had on Yi Chen’s face was singing with his heart and his dance was so good. It had to be another soul in that body otherwise why was he so good?
“He must be possessed because there is no way he is that good,” said Zi Han and Yeoh Jun pointed out that however years he had spent with his wife he still didn’t know her fully and was still discovering new things about her. That was one of the blessings of growing old with somebody.
