Chapter 316 Argument

At the hospital, once Rosie’s injury was taken care of, the doctor instructed Elias, “Once

the patient goes home, make sure the wound doesn’t come into contact with water. She

can’t have any alcohol, seafood, or spicy food.”

“Right.”

“Also, it will be a little itchy when the wound scabs over, but she must not scratch it. All

that’s left is to come to the hospital and change the dressing when it’s time.”

“Okay,” Elias patiently responded to the nurse.

Just then, another nurse came over to pass the medical invoice to Elias. “Hi. You’ll need to

pay on the first. floor.”

Elias took the invoice and left.

Once he was gone, the nurse tending to Rosie’s bandage commented, “Is that your

boyfriend? He’s so handsome. I’ve never seen someone as handsome as him.”

Rosie smiled blissfully. It was her first time hearing someone mistake Elias for her

boyfriend, making her feel all giddy inside. If only it were real.

She didn’t say anything, but the sweet smile on her face made the nurse assume that

they were indeed a couple.

“You should seize this chance to order him around a bit more,” the nurse suggested

teasingly. “He looks rather stern and reserved.”

“I wish, but I can’t bear to do that…” Rosie lowered her head bashfully.

If Elias were indeed her boyfriend, she couldn’t possibly bear to order him around. She

would be the one who fawned over him and worshiped his every move.

The nurse laughed. “He has you right under this thumb. You shouldn’t give in to a man so

much, you know. As long as he has you in his heart, you can always throw a little tantrum

sometimes.”

That wiped the smile off Rosie’s face.

It just so happened that she didn’t have a place in his heart at all, so what could she do?

The moment she threw a tantrum, she would have even less chance to be near him.

Elias came back and saw that her wound was all bandaged up, so he helped her up. “Let’s

go.”

“Eli, you won’t scold Aiden anymore when you go back, right? He’s still so young. He

would be very scared. if you kept scolding him all the time.”

Rosie looked so kind and sweet as if she genuinely felt worried for Aiden.

“I won’t,” Elias replied.

Rosie froze. He’s not going to?He’s not going to care that the little brat made me bleed?

She kept up her fake smile. “That’s good. Aiden’s a very good boy. Maybe he’s just not

used to a new environment.”

Elias didn’t say anything.

Back at Winters Estate, Rosie was brought back to her room and Elias didn’t stay for even

a second longer. He turned and left right away.

As soon as he had his back to Rosie, her innocent smile disappeared without a trace. She

knew Elias would be biased toward Aiden, but she didn’t think he would be this biased.

Meanwhile, Amanda had only just managed to coax Aiden into taking a nap. He had only

just gotten the surgery and still needed a lot of rest.

All of a sudden, the bedroom door opened.

Amanda turned around in displeasure. She was even more displeased to see Elias.coming

in.

Seeing that Aiden was asleep, Elias slowed down his footsteps. He closed the door and

came over to the bed.

She was seething with rage over the fact that Elias had berated Aiden until he cried, and

all because of Rosie.

After tucking the covers around Aiden, Amanda stood up and gave Elias a look that meant

she wanted to talk out on the balcony.

The two went out to the balcony and closed the glass door behind them.

Elias knew what Amanda wanted to say, so he sat down on the chair and quietly waited

for Amanda to lash out at him.

He felt bad about scolding his son, but Rosie did save Aiden’s life, so he didn’t think it was

right for Rosie to suffer such grievances.

“You took Rosie’s words without even clarifying what happened first! Or, is this your way

of doubting the way I raise my son? Do you think my son would do such a thing?”

This was what angered Amanda the most-the fact that Elias assumed Aiden hurt Rosie

without even finding out what happened first.

Elias looked down. He was silent for a while before he finally said, “Aiden has the habit of

throwing things when his temper flares up. That needs to be corrected, or else, it’ll be

hard for him to change once he gets older.

“Don’t even try to change the subject! If it were you, you would’ve thrown things around

too! Why wouldn’t he be furious at the way you accepted those false accusations against

him?”

Elias looked into Amanda’s eyes. “But Rosie was indeed injured. I saw Aiden pushing her to

the floor. No matter what, she did save Aiden’s life. It’s not good for him to repay her

kindness with such behavior.”

“What a joke! Do you think Rosie’s made of paper? How can a three-year-old boy push her

to the floor? She was faking it, okay?! Can’t you see that?!”

Amanda was well and truly pissed off. I knew it! Rosie’s up to no good!

In the beginning, she didn’t want to let Rosie be the donor, and true enough, as soon as

she donated her marrow, she was starting to stir up trouble. Rosie seemed to have a good

read on Elias’ personality.

As long as he feels guilty, he’ll show never-ending tolerance for her behavior. He’ll even let

her do whatever she wants. Amanda felt like she was going to explode, and Elias didn’t

want to argue with her. He didn’t think she was in the right mood for any kind of

discussion. The conflict would only get worse.

“That’s enough. Let’s not talk about this right now. You’re too emotional. We’ll talk once

you calm down.” Alas, Elias has no clue that he had just stepped on a landmine.

“Calm down? Are you saying that I’m not calm right now? No matter how uncalm I am, I

would never set up a three-year-old child. If this is the attitude you’re going to take, I’m

taking Aiden back home tonight.”

She truly didn’t want Aiden to be in the same place as Rosie. She kept getting the feeling

that Rosie was. going to cause trouble.

True enough, they had only been here for a day and something like this happened already,

even though she didn’t know what Rosie was really after.

Upon hearing these words, Elias stood up. He reined in his irritation and said grimly, “He

needs to stay here. It’s good for his recovery. The environment here is clean and the air is

fresh,”

“So what? The most important thing when someone’s recovering is to be in a good mood.

How is Aiden going to get any better if he sticks around and gets framed with all kinds of

nonsense every day?”

Elias had nothing to say to that, so he took a deep breath and said, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t

have scolded him. today. It was a tense situation and he has a bad temper. I just wanted

to rein it in a bit.”

“Why don’t you rein Rosie in instead? It’s obvious that she’s here to stir up trouble. Can’t

you see that? She purposely told Aiden that she was coming here to soak in the hot spring

so that he would get jealous. Can’t you tell what she’s doing?”

Amanda didn’t know what to say. He seemed genuinely unable to tell when a woman was

being a fake b*tch.

Elias remained quiet. It was true that he couldn’t see anything wrong with Rosie’s

behavior.

Rosic wasn’t being clingy with him. She even volunteered to donate her marrow, which

was why he couldn’t think of a justifiable reason to get her to leave.
