Chapter 542 Am I a Bad Woman in Your Eyes?
It was already noon the next day when Amanda woke up. She was so exhausted that at
one. point, when the maid came to call her for breakfast, she couldn’t get up.
She even missed sending Aiden to kindergarten.
Last night, Elias had exhausted her for too long, leaving her feeling sore and tired.
However, that man seemed refreshed and went to work as usual.
When she woke up, it wasn’t a natural awakening but rather a phone call that disturbed
her.
She reached for her phone and saw that it was Elias calling. She answered the phone
somewhat irritably, “What do you want? Are you calling to console me?”
The man on the other end of the line chuckled indulgently. “Yes, how are you feeling? Just
woke up, huh? I heard you slept in all morning and didn’t even have breakfast.”
“Could I even get up? How dare you ask that question? Don’t you know how unreasonable
you were last night!” Amanda didn’t even have the energy to flip out.
“Okay, okay, it’s all my fault. How about coming over for lunch? I’ll treat you.”
“No need, I don’t feel like going out. I’ll just eat something at home.”
“Alright, suit yourself. If you get sleepy, just eat and go back to sleep.”
Amanda’s lips twitched. “How is that any different from raising a pig? Eating and sleeping,
sleeping and eating.”
“So what? I can afford it, and I’m willing to do it.”
“Elias! You really have a sharp tongue. Well, you’d better go earn money quickly, or you
really won’t be able to afford me. I’m not easy to maintain.”
“Okay, I’ll go make money then. You better get up and have something to eat.”
Despite feeling a bit angry, after hanging up the phone, she couldn’t help but feel a warm
and sweet sensation.

Her current life was what she had always dreamed of the man she loved and her child
were both with her, and it was comfortable and relaxing.
But there was still Symeon, like a ticking time bomb. She couldn’t shake off the feeling
that Symeon might surprise Elias at any moment.
Casey arrived at Galaxy Bay very early. As soon as she entered, she saw Symeon
preparing to leave with Dulcie, who seemed ready for an outing, with a small backpack on
her back.
“Are you taking her to kindergarten?”
“Yes, you
don’t need to come over to take care of her today. Go back,” Symeon replied, holding
Dulcie in his arms, exuding a burst of fatherly warmth.
Dulcie extended her little hand and greeted Casey, “Good morning, Miss Casey. I’m much
better today. I’m going to kindergarten, and I want to play with Aiden.”
“Oh, I see,” Casey replied.
Symeon, holding Dulcie, walked past her, planning to leave. Casey followed, saying, “Let
me come along. I won’t be a bother; I’ll just help you drop Dulcie off at kindergarten.”
Symeon ignored her, not wanting to lose his temper in front of the child and tarnish hist
image as a father.
During the drive, Symeon remained silent. Casey and Dulcie chatted in the back seat,
engaging in whispered conversations. Symeon didn’t attempt to join their conversation
and instead focused on driving.
After half an hour, they finally arrived at the kindergarten, and the three of them got out
of
the car.
When the kindergarten teacher saw Dulcie, she happily greeted her, “Hello, Dulcie! You’re
finally here at kindergarten. I and the other kids have missed you a lot. Are you feeling
better. now?”
Dulcie walked over and shyly replied, “Thank you, teacher. I’m much better now, and I’ve
missed you all too.”
After leading Dulcie into the classroom, the teacher turned to Symeon. “Don’t worry,
Dulcie’s dad. We will take good care of her.”
Symeon glanced into the classroom and instructed, “Dulcie has a sensitive stomach, so
please give her light and non-greasy food.”
“Okay, you and Dulcie’s mom can rest assured. We will take good care of Dulcie.”
Dulcie’s mom?
Symeon and Casey exchanged glances, and before Casey could speak, Symeon coldly
said, “She is not Dulcie’s mother,”
Casey felt a bit awkward, finding this man incredibly petty.
The teacher also looked embarrassed. “I’m sorry; I thought she was Dulcie’s mother.”
“Well, take good care of Dulcie. We’ll be on our way,” Symeon concluded, then turned and
left. Casey looked back into the classroom with lingering worry before departing
reluctantly.
Outside the kindergarten, Symeon, with an emotionless expression, said to her, “Take a
cab back by yourself. I have to go to the office.”
“Hey, are you really so ungentlemanly that you won’t even give me a ride? It’s rush hour
and it’s not easy to get a cab.”
“So what? It’s not my concern. You can take the subway.”
Symeon had already gotten into the car and was fastening his seatbelt.
now,
Casey, however, couldn’t resist being sarcastic and snarky. “If it were Amanda, you’d
probably be eager to offer her a ride, right?”

have to compare with her? She’s more beautiful than you, more successful in her career,
and as a mother, she’s far more responsible than you. Let me ask you, what have you
ever done that’s worthwhile? Sneaking into my bed, giving birth to my child, then
abandoning her, and pretending to be innocent. Now, when the paternity test reveals the
truth, you try to take Dulcie away. Tell me, what have you done that’s right?”
Symeon truly looked down on Casey, but he didn’t know about her past experiences or
why she couldn’t remember the pregnancy and childbirth events.
Casey was left speechless and felt like her self-esteem was being trampled upon.
“Do I appear to you as a bad woman?” she asked.

“What else would you be? Have you done anything decent? You sneaked into my birth to
my child, then abandoned them, only to confess when confronted with the DNA test. Now,
you’re trying to take the child away. Tell me, what have you done that’s righteous?”
Symeon didn’t hold back in expressing his disdain for Casey. He didn’t know the reasons.
behind her actions or her inability to recall what happened during her pregnancy and
childbirth.
Casey wasn’t denying her actions but genuinely couldn’t remember what had transpired.
“I’m not denying it; I genuinely don’t remember these things. I even suspect I might have.
amnesia, or else how could I have no recollection at all.”
Symeon coldly suggested, “I recommend you see a therapist. I can arrange one for you.”
“Do you
have to be so hurtful with your words? Have I done anything terribly wrong? I’ve admitted
it now, and I’ve promised to make it up to Dulcie. Why do you have to be like this? As a
father, have you set a good example?” Casey retorted.
Symeon couldn’t sit still anymore. “What have I done? As a father, am I chasing after at
married woman now? Do you want your daughter to suffer like this in the future?” He
unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the car door, and got out. “What’s wrong with you? As a
father, do you want your daughter to suffer like this in the future?”
