Chapter 187

Anger surged in me, and | pushed him offas hard as | could.

| gave him a slap that resounded across the forest. Without waiting for his reaction, | bolted. | ran as fast as my

legs could carry

Repulsed, | wiped my lips with the back of my hand as | felt tears stung my eyes.

| felt Tiara’s rage in me. It took all the strength I could muster to stop myself from attacking Ryker. Tiara hated

that anyone. else aside from Eros would touch us intimately.

Especially now that we were with a child.

“I want to rip him to shreds.” Tiara growled.

| ignored her voice and ran faster. | didn’t try to look back or to check if Ryker was on my heels. All | cared about

was getting as far away from him as possible.

“It doesn’t matter how far you run. | will have you to myself soon enough.” Ryker’s voice echoed through the

forest.

| shivered. It was clear Ryker was insane.

Was this the reason why Lord Shevek didn’t want him close to me? Or was it something else?

How could Lord Shevek keep such a raving madman around in his house?

Soon | was at the small gate. | entered and ran headfirst into the maze.

| had no idea how | was able to find my way out of the maze. But when I did, | made a dash for my room. |

ignored the curious looks | got from the maids.

“Eden!” | cto a stop when my mother called out toacross the hallway.

| looked her way, my eyes red from unshed tears. Her eyes widened at the look in my eyes. But | didn’t allow her

to say another word before | hurried away.

My skin crawled as | wiped my lips over and over again. | was itching all over, and I felt dirty, like | had just lied

in a pool of

mud.

“We cheated on our mate.” Tiara whimpered.

“It wasn’t our fault. Ryker forced himself on us.” | said urgently.

That didn’t calm us. | only felt like they were mere excuses.

| allowed another man to touch me. And worse, | couldn’t do anything but run like a little girl.

My emotions were a mess. | felt weak and disoriented. Everything was different.

| wasn’t sure if this was because of the pregnancy or if this was just purely because of the sexual harassment.

| was so lost in my thoughts that | didn’t see the person waiting forin the middle of the hallway.

| stopped before | bumped into Cheryl, who looked atwith a hateful smile.

“Cheryl?” | started. | remembered how Lord Shevek had wanted us to be friendly.

| forced a smile on my face. “What are you doing here?”

“You dirty dog.” She screamed and jumped at me. | barely moved back in tbefore she could grab my hair.

I looked at her in alarm.

“What is wrong with you?” | screamed, my frustration at its peak.

Cheryl scoffed. “I knew you would act like you have no idea what you have done.”

“Because | really don’t have an idea why you are trying to attack me.” | snapped.

“I would believe the words of a snake over a nasty dog in heat.” She lashed out.

| frowned. This was the second tshe calleda dog. Vampires knew how much we hated being called dogs.

“You blood sucking leech. How dare you callnames?” | growled.

Tiara wanted to be let loose, but | held strong. I felt my claws cout just as Cheryl bared her fangs at me.

“I will call you whatever | choose.” She said. “You had no right to be with my lover. You had no right to touch him

or to kiss him.” Cheryl raged.

| paused.

“What are you talking about?” | asked.

“I saw you with Ryker. Did you think you and him were the only ones in the forest? | saw you kiss him. You little

—" Cheryl made another attack on me, but | saw it in time.

| moved away again as she stumbled forward with great speed. She hit the wall with a force that sent her back to

the floor with a thump.

“I hate you!” She screeched

“You have it all wrong.” | said. “I didn’t kiss Ryker; he forced himself on me.”

Just thinking about the way Ryker grabbedmadeshiver in disgust. It didn’t help that it felt so weird

considering how much he looked like my mate.

“Liar!” She growled. “You think | would believe you.”

| sighed “I don’t care what you think.”

There was a small silence, followed by a sob. Cheryl started crying, “Ryker and | were doing just fine before you

appeared. | had everything planned. Why don’t you just go back to where you cfrom?”

“It’s not like that. Ryker was-"

“Please go away.” Cheryl screamed. She scrambled to her feet and glared at me. “Look! This is not the last of me

yet. I've got my eyes on you.” She threatened and stormed out.

| kept moving. Sof the maids bowed their heads when they saw me, but | ignored them.

As soon as | got inside the safety of my room, | covered my face with my palms and screamed into it.

Desperate for relief, | pulled off my clothes and rushed to the bathroom.

The first thing | did was to wash my mouth as hard as | could. It felt like | wanted to rip out my gums.

Then | lathered my body with soap and allowed the water to wash away the remnants of Rykers scent on me.

| hated this place. | don’t feel safe. Nothing felt normal tohere.

| wanted my friends to cas soon as they could to whiskaway.

| wanted Eros to hold me, cuddle me, and telleverything would be fine.

| couldn’t help the tears that flowed down my face as the water cascaded down my body...

I was still lost in my thoughts when | heard the doorknob turned. | went still... The door opened and closed.

Someone had entered my room.
