“But he is the King. How can he be forced to do anything?” | asked, unable to help himself.

She laughed. “Stupid girl. That is how alliances are built. At most, you can be Eros breeder which | heard you

already are but letmike this clear to you. You are never going to be his queen. | am going to take the crown

feeling?”

Eve then turned to look atand reached for my hand, smiling sweetly. “Remember what I said to you today,

okay? Just take a rest, | will take my leave now.

| only nodded to her as she walked out and closed the door behind her, staring atintently while Beauty's

back was turned towards her.

“Ok, so how do you feel?” She askedand | offered weakly, “As though | had been driven over.”

Beauty chuckled. “I am so sorry. | shouldn't have asked when | have no idea what it was like for you. | always

heard stories of others, how their first shift was painful and they had to learn gradually to not pass out under

their Alpha’s supervision.”

I smiled at her, “Yeah,”

Eve’s words were still lingering in my mind and so | asked Beauty. “So the ball? Was the event a success?”

Beauty's eyes perked up at the question.

“Well it’s still ongoing, and yes it is a success.”

Beauty smiled sofily, and | smiled weakly. Then she said “Well, it looks like you are feeling quite tired so how

about | let you sleep then? If you need anything, givea call, okay?”

I answered with a slug. “I don’t have a mobile, | wasn't allowed to in my former pack,”

Beauty bit her lower lip nervously, “Uh, okay then for now, you can just press that button on the side table.”

“Okay” | said as she got up from the chair and walked outside, lettingfall asleep. After sseconds, | stood

up from the bed. Then | began to pace in the room.

| had transformed but only partially. Now, | had to cup with other plans to ensure my survival in this life.

| need to becstrong enough to shift and not feel tired so that my wolf would take over comfortably. Too

many thoughts were clouding my mind, and | started pacing the room.

And then the thought struck me. If | had a wolf, then | also have a mate. And that mate, May or may not be Eros,

Worry began to gnaw at my lip. My pacing increased as well as my heartbeat but | didn’t have theanswers yet.

Feeling bothered, | grabbed the jug of water and emptied all of it over my head after throwing the windows open.

My head was stuck outside as the water cascade down my hair.
