Chapter 576
His voice sounded raspy like there was a fire burning deep inside him. That scared the bejesus out of Brittany and
made her step back.
Taking a deep breath, Brittany mustered up the courage, pushed Isaac away, and swung her bag at him. “Isaac, do
you think this is cool? Don’t you feel gross?
Why pretending that you care about me that much? What about me made you do so?”
Five years ago, she was head over heels for him. But now, five years later, what on earth did he want?
Isaac didn’t dodge the bag hitting his face, and his cheek turned red. He riveted his eyes on Brittany, “I wasn’t
pretending. I can explain what happened five years ago.”
“Explain what? Do you really think we can clear up our issues with some explanation?” Brittany scoffed.
After five years, Isaac’s shamelessness had hit a new level.
“Isaac, if you want to explain, just bring back my grandma and Kyle Salter. Then we can talk!”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBecause of him, she had lost the most important people in her life!
What gave him the right to stand in front of her and say that he could explain what happened five years ago?
A hint of sorrow in Isaac’s eyes faded a bit. “I was wrong about your grandma’s issue. I’ll find a way to make up for
it. I knew Leda was a suitable donor, but I withheld the information because I knew she wouldn’t want to donate.”
He knew Leda well. She couldn’t want to donate. Instead, she’d use this to bend him to her will. In that case, she
could rightly inherit the Salter family’s fortune.
“Because you didn’t want to give in!”
Brittany couldn’t hold it any longer seeing him dig up the past. She threw her bag away, eyes red. “You knew how
important my grandma was to me more than anyone. But you just stood there and watched the optimal time pass!
You didn’t tell me just because you were afraid I would go to Leda and reveal your true identity. Did Leda offer you
a deal in exchange for telling you those things?”
Isaac knew Brittany was smart, and he knew he couldn’t hide the truth forever.
With all the secrets exposed, he stepped back with a pale face.
“Seems like I hit the nail on the head. How are you so sure that I would have agreed to her terms if/l knew about it
five years ago?”
Brittany sniffled, then turned around. Her eyes were welling up. “Isaac, if you had told me from the beginning, I
wouldn’t have forced you to give in.”
What she hated was that Isaac knew, but chose to hide it.
All because he was afraid she would make him submit.
This made her realize that he never really trusted her, even though she had carried his baby and spent countless
nights with him.
“I had no choice. My mother died because of her so I couldn’t cave into her. I did my best to make up for it, but I
didn’t expect your grandma to leave us so soon.”
Isaac’s lips were trembling.
“But five years ago, you went to H City for a kidney source and didn’t come back on time. Where did you go?”
“Isaac, when I was kidnapped, were you reminiscing about your past love?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIsaac was taken aback. He hadn’t expected Brittany to know about this. He opened his mouth, but no words came
out.
Because Brittany was telling the truth.
He didn’t rush back to Imperial City immediately, nor did he notice Brittany’s disappearance right away. Worst of all,
because of him, Brittany couldn’t even see Donna Dustin for the last time.
Brittany snorted and picked up her bag. Before she left, she gave Isaac a meaningful look. “Isaac, I actually think
you’re quite pathetic. I used to love you deeply, but you never really trusted me. So, you deserve to lose the people
and things you care about.”
Isaac stepped back on hearing her remarks. His chest felt as if it was being crushed by a stone; he was too painful
to breathe.
“I’ll do anything as long as you come back.”
His raspy voice echoed in Brittany’s ears, and she only found his words sardonic.
“If the person I care about can come back to life, I’ll give you a second chance. How about that?”
People can’t come back from the dead.
ed her leque in silence then said in a soft tone. “What if Kyle is still alive”
