Chapter 663
He was up the entire night waiting for Brittany’s return, but she never showed up.
He was afraid something had happened to her and looked everywhere, even hanging around the Dustin Group for a
while.
But what he didn’t expect was for Brittany to step out of Lionel’s car.
Brittany looked at Isaac with disgust in her eyes, “Who I’m with is none of your business, is it?”
“We’re married.” Isaac’s voice was low, “Bri, I’m sorry. I’ve really messed up. But I’m human too. I have feelings.
Can you stop provoking me just because I love you, please?”
He couldn’t guarantee what he might do if Brittany kept pushing his buttons like that.
Brittany scoffed, “Either lock me up or I’m going to divorce you sooner or later.”
Brittany didn’t want to deal with Isaac anymore; sorting out the Dustin Group was what really mattered.
Back at the office, it was total chaos, and Brittany felt a headache coming on at the sight of the mountain of
paperwork.
Just as she finished dealing with all the files, she collapsed in the lounge, utterly exhausted. Before she could fall
asleep, she received a phone call.

A gentle female voice came through, and Brittany immediately sat up and said, “Yes, it is.”
“Hello, I’m Daniel’s teacher. He got into a fight at school. Could you come over?”
It was as if a bomb had gone off in Brittany’s head. For a moment, she lost her composure, stood up abruptly, and
rushed to the school.
When she arrived at the school, she stood outside the classroom.
Daniel’s head was bandaged, and beside him stood a chubby little boy and a middle aged couple.
Seeing Brittany arrive, the teacher approached and asked, “Are you Daniel’s mother?”
“Yes, what happened?” Brittany’s face turned solemn at the sight of Daniel’s bandage.
“Well, Daniel got into a conflict with two other students. According to the surveillance, he threw the first punch.”
The female teacher looked troubled.
Brittany frowned. Daniel had always been a well-behaved kid: Why would he start a fight for no reason?
She walked over to Daniel, who immediately teared up but didn’t dare approach, simply standing still in his spot.
“Daniel, are you hurt?” Brittany’s voice choked up.
Daniel’s eyes reddened even more. He carefully nodded his head, then apologized, “I’m sorry, mom. I shouldn’t
have fought.”
“Daniel, you should’ve apologized sooner. I’m telling you, if you dare hit me again, I’ll have you thrown in jail.” The
chubby boy arrogantly said.
Hearing his words, Daniel immediately got angry, “You started it with your nonsense!”

“What nonsense? Your family is going bankrupt; you’re not worthy of hanging out with Abby!” The chubby boy
rolled up his sleeves, ready to start another fight.
Fortunately, the teacher stopped him, and the middle-aged couple sneered at Brittany, “Ms. Dustin, kids can be
thoughtless.”
Brittany clenched her teeth. Daniel hugged her neck, whispering, “Mom, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to fight and cause
trouble.”
Kids are very sensitive.
Brittany had been working late and leaving early those days. She was too busy, and Daniel noticed her unusual
behavior.
“Daniel, tell mom what he said to you.” Brittany always believed her son wouldn’t resort to violence over a few
words.
“He said you are shameless, that you were kicked out of the house after I was born, and that you’re going

There were other nasty things Daniel couldn’t bring himself to say.
Brittany didn’t expect Daniel, who was still so young, to be treated that way!
She stood up, turning to the couple, and asked, “Don’t you owe me an explanation?”
The kid was still young; his worldview wasn’t mature.
The chubby boy’s words must’ve been parroting an adult’s.
The couple rolled their eyes, handing her a check, “Ms. Dustin, here’s $10,000; let’s put this matter to rest.”
The news about Brittany’s impending divorce was all over town.
Who knew what she did wrong that even with a child, she was still being kicked out by the Salter family?
Everyone was waiting for the drama to unfold.
$10,000?
Brittany looked at the check, her lips trembling with rage, don’t want your money, I want an apology!”
“Apologize?”
The couple chuckled, “Ms. Dustin, my brother works at the Industrial and Commercial Bureau; you’ve been
reaching out to him a lot recently, haven’t you? Maybe! can put in a good word for you?”
