Chapter 749
Grace was ecstatic. She could barely contain herself. “What are we waiting for? Grab the soup and let’s head to the
hospital.”
Emily, also worried about Daniel, quickly replied, “Alright, just give me a minute to change, and we’ll be on our
way.”
After changing into a fresh set of clothes, Emily helped Grace, who was carrying a thermos. “Grace, shall we?”
Joie, feeling rather left out, decided to join in. “Grandma, let me accompany you.”
She had to go to the hospital to see if that little rascal had spilled any secrets.
Especially about how he fell.
Grace didn’t give it much thought. “Alright.”
The three of them left together.
On the way, Grace was in high spirits; even her previous tension with Joie seemed to dissolve.

[Why didn’t you tell me the brat woke up?]
[Miss, we just got the news ourselves. Mr. Salter has been around, so we couldn’t do anything.]
They sounded helpless. Even with all their abilities, they wouldn’t dare to scheme in front of Isaac.
Isaac was there too?
Joie’s face changed. If that little rascal spilled the beans about that day, how would she ever hold her ground in the
Salter family?
After arriving at the hospital in a sleek black car, Emily assisted Grace out of the vehicle, with Joie following closely
behind.
Once they reached the hospital room, Grace saw that Daniel was awake. She quickly approached him. Her
heartache was apparent on her face when she saw the wound on his head.
Brittany, seeing their arrival, contained her anger and sat quietly on a nearby couch, refraining from speaking.
Daniel, holding Grace’s hand, kept calling her name affectionately, which made her smile.
Isaac remained silent the whole time, then his gaze landed on Joie. “What are you doing here?”
“I came with Grandma. I heard Daniel was hospitalized, so I came to visit.”
Joie quickly put on a smile, appearing gentle and charming. However, her smile seemed particularly irritating to
Brittany.
She still couldn’t believe that Daniel had just simply fallen.
At least she couldn’t find any evidence for now.
“Ms. Dustin.” Joie met Brittany’s gaze, appearing calm and collected.
Brittany looked away.
After comforting Daniel for a while, Grace suddenly remembered to ask about his fall. “Daniel, tell me, what
happened that day? How did you fall?”
Joie tensed up. She unconsciously clenched her fists, fearing Daniel would reveal the truth about that day.
She glanced at Daniel as her face turned pale from fear.
The next moment, Daniel smiled warmly and said, “I can’t remember.”

Daniel smiled innocently. “I wanted some milk, but Granny Emily wasn’t around, so I ran too fast. Tthink I hit my
head when I fell. It really hurts.”
Daniel’s eyes welled up, so Grace couldn’t bear to ask more. She hugged him as tears fell from her eyes.
Joie breathed a sigh of relief. She was clearly not expecting Daniel to withhold the truth.
She took a deep breath, put on a gentle facade, and looked at Grace obediently.
With Daniel awake, Brittany could finally relax.
She initially planned to stay by Daniel’s side in the hospital, but she received a call from the organizers reminding
her that the final round was approaching and she should
prepare.
Once Brittany ended the call, Grace had already left.
Daniel, feeling drowsy, snuggled into his blankets, looking adorably obedient.
When Isaac left as well, Brittany finally found a chance to ask, “Sweetie, tell me. How did you fall?”
