Chapter 829
Isaac frowned. “Noel’s the one with the legs; you should be asking him.”
Manuel’s face turned ashen. “I know I’ve wronged you in the past, and you might not forgive me. I’m
not expecting us to mend fences, but I genuinely want to make it up to Noel.”
He tried to play the emotional card, “Can’t you understand a father’s plea?”
Isaac couldn’t help but smirk, “If you truly want to make amends, then show it with actions, not just
words. Or are you” Isaac’s gaze sharpened, “all talk?”
Manuel, of course, harbored intentions of making amends with Noel, but was reluctant to
take action.
He believed that his mere consideration to make amends was a generous gift, given his status as an
elder.
Isaac brushed past Manuel, entering the banquet hall.
Gone was the greenness of five years past; today’s Brittany epitomized mature grace, her elegance
accentuated by a deep emerald cocktail dress that clung to her figure.
Numerous men at the venue couldn’t resist casting eager glances her way.
They couldn’t care less that she had reconciled with Isaac; they were eager to make their
move.

William hadn’t expected Brittany to show up. He dismissed the people around him and approached her.
“I thought you wouldn’t come.
After all, the relationship between Marcel and the Salters was strained, and Grace had skipped the
wedding.
Brittany lifted her glass in a toast to William. “I’ve got unfinished business with them. Had to come and
see for myself.”
Their glasses chimed crisply.
“Is Mr. Salter not here?” William inquired, since his bond with Isaac had ended when he and Brittany
became an item.
“He’s here.”
Brittany didn’t want to talk about him.
“The lawsuit…” William’s voice was grave, “do you need my help finding a lawyer?”
“No need, I’ve got my plans.”
You couldn’t pick a handful of lawyers in Imperial City better than Jolin.
William was baffled as to how Isaac had ended up on Joie’s side.
As their conversation flowed, Isaac entered the banquet hall.
Upon seeing them together, a storm seemed to brew in his eyes, carrying a chilling
intensity.
He strode forward, seizing Brittany’s wrist. “Ease up on the drinks.”
Then, he cast a cold look at William.
“Even though you’re friends with Bri, things are awkward. Better keep your distance.”
William’s smile grew. “Mr. Salter, are you trying to restrict Bri’s freedom to choose her friends?”
Brittany struggled but couldn’t break free from Isaac.
“Let go!” She commanded in a low voice.
“Why would I? We’re engaged,” Isaac said, his voice dropping to an icy tone.
William knew Isaac was staking his claim and smiled at Brittany, “Bri, I’ve got to run. You
two have your chat.”
Touched by William’s thoughtfulness, Brittany felt a bit embarrassed. “Alright.”
After William left, under the curious gazes of the crowd, Brittany pulled Isaac towards a quiet corner of
the garden.
In their secluded spot, she wrenched her hand free. “What were you just doing?”

They had a history together, and Brittany had once thought of spending her life with
William.
This was a sore point for him.
Brittany frowned. “William and I have been friends for years. We’re not married yet; even if we were,
you don’t have the right to dictate who I can or cannot see.”
Brittany couldn’t just cut William out of her life.
If it weren’t for William, she would’ve died at sea and wouldn’t be here today.
Brittany’s response irked Isaac.
He wanted to lash out, but he understood more than anyone that it was his own failings that had given
William this opportunity.
Brittany noticed his darkening expression, like a storm on the horizon, and massaged her temples.
“Let’s table this discussion for later, shall we? Let’s just get through the wedding
first.”
Isaac’s grip tightened around Brittany’s waist, pulling her against the wall as he leaned in.
His breath was hot on her face.
A passionate kiss landed, instantly flushing Brittany’s cheeks crimson.
