Chapter 703
After the doctor left, Brittany stayed at the hospital until late into the night.
It wasn’t until the Salters sent someone that Brittany left with Daniel.
Once home, she got Daniel settled in his room.
She made herself a cup of coffee and was just about to take a sip when a knock sounded at the door.
Opening it, she found William standing on the other side.
“William, what brings you here at this late hour?” Brittany hadn’t expected to see William. It was late. Shouldn’t he
have been resting?
“Can we talk?”
William hadn’t anticipated the turmoil that had taken hold of the Salter family in just a few days. Isaac had even
been ousted from Grandeur Capital, with Marcel stepping up to take the reins and initiate a series of radical
changes.

“Come in.” Brittany invited William inside, heading to the kitchen. She returned with another cup of hot coffee.
“Take a seat.”
William loosened his tie and settled onto the sofa. “Did you have a hand in what’s happening to the Salters?”
“You could say that.” Brittany handed him the steaming cup. Her expression was icy.
William couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy. “Aren’t you afraid of retaliation from the Salters?”
Isaac wasn’t one to take things lying down. Since he had fallen from grace, he wasn’t just going to swallow his
anger. That wasn’t over.
“I’m not afraid.” Brittany shook her head. If she was scared of the Salters’ revenge, she would have run off a long
time ago. Why would have she stayed in Imperial City and pit herself against Isaac?
William knew Brittany was determined and had her own ideas. He also understood that with how things had
escalated, Brittany and the Salters were then at loggerheads.
“If you need help, don’t hesitate to ask.”
“You’re married to Carla, which makes you part of the Salter family. I wouldn’t want to get you into trouble.”
At the mention of that, William rubbed his forehead. “The Salters can’t touch me for now.”
With the Salters out of favor at the time, Isaac was no match for him.
“So, what’s your next move?”
“I’ll focus on my studio and the Dustin Group for now.”
Before leaving, William wanted to hug Brittany but he held back because of their circumstances. “Get some rest
and try not to pay attention to the rumors.”
With Isaac’s downfall and Brittany’s hand in it, the rumors were flying. He worried about how Brittany was handling
it.
“I know.” Brittany saw William out, finished her coffee, and went to bed.
Grandeur Capital was in turmoil. Marcel had seized control and was making sweeping changes.
Many of Isaac’s loyal subordinates had chosen to resign, which suited Marcel just fine.
Rumors were running rampant. Many disapproved of Marcel’s underhanded methods to gain power. But the more

Isaac had been unconscious for three whole days, When he woke up, only Nathan was by his side.
For three days, it felt like he had walked through hell. When he woke up, every inch of his body ached as if it had
been taken apart and reassembled. He didn’t even have the strength to lift his hand.
“Mr. Salter, you’re awake.”
Nathan was overjoyed to see Isaac regain consciousness. He quickly left the room to notify the doctor.
Isaac stared at the ceiling. Everything that had happened before he passed out rushed back to him.
He had gone to the suburbs to find Brittany, drank alcohol, got drenched in the rain, and came down with a fever.
His throat burned, probably from the high temperature.
The doctor arrived and examined Isaac. His gaze softened when he looked at Nathan. “His fever’s gone down.”.
Nathan sighed in relief. “Good. Thank you.”
After the doctor left, Nathan went over to the bed. “Mr. Salter, I’m glad you’re awake.”
Isaac lifted his hand, indicating he wanted a drink.
Nathan poured a glass of water, helped Isaac sit up, and handed him the glass. “Mr. Salter, take it slow.”
