Chapter 730
Brittany gently turned down Lucas once again when she got home.
Lucas was obviously disheartened. “Bri, I’m really sorry.”
He genuinely liked Brittany, but she refused to give him a chance.
“Lucas, we’re not right for each other. We’re better off as friends.”
Lucas sighed, “All right then, can we still have dinner together?”
“Sure.”
Brittany ended the call, tucked Daniel into bed, and decided to take a stroll to clear her mind.
She had barely taken a few steps when she noticed a man standing in the shadow.
She was startled.
The man stepped out of the shadow.

“Isaac?”
Isaac strode up to her, pressing her against the wall assertively, “Stop seeing other men.”
He must have just arrived. His body was cold.
His voice was hoarse, filled with an unusual emotion.
Brittany instinctively struggled, “Isaac, let me go.”
Isaac seemed flustered. He had initially agreed to the divorce, not wanting Brittany to be entangled with Leda and
her son anymore.
Another part of him hoped that Brittany would stop resisting him.
But what he didn’t expect was that the Chester family couldn’t wait to set her up with other men, and the
candidates were quite decent!
“Give me some time. I’ll make it up to you. Don’t be with anyone else.” Isaac’s voice was hoarse. Clearly, he was at
his wit’s end. His grip was so tight that it hurt Brittany.
Brittany, in pain, kicked him away, her eyes red, “Isaac, we’re already divorced. What right do you have to tell me
who I can be with?”
Isaac grimaced in pain, his face pale, “Bri…”
Brittany lost interest in her walk and turned to leave.
Watching her retreating figure, Isaac felt as if his heart was being ripped apart. He quickly caught up with her,
grabbing her hand, “One year.”
“What?” Brittany thought she had misheard.
Isaac hoarsely repeated, “Give me one year. I swear I’ll bounce back. I can give you everything. Just give me a
chance. If, after one year, you still can’t forgive me, I’ll stay away from you. Is that okay?”
The thought of Brittany being with someone else was driving him crazy!
Brittany thought Isaac was losing his mind. She tried to pull her hand away, but he held it tighter. He held onto it like

The moonlight shone down, illuminating his handsome face. His eyes were filled with pleading.
Brittany’s heart fluttered. She lifted her eyes to meet his, a smile playing on her lips, “Isaac, did you ever imagine
this would happen six years ago?”
When he had her at his mercy, did he ever think there would come a day when he would be begging her for a
chance?
Isaac was struck dumb. After a while, he let go of her hand, “It’s all my fault. That’s why I’m asking you to give me
a chance.”
Facing his pleading gaze, Brittany didn’t know what to say. After a while, she said, “Remember what you said. If
after a year, I still haven’t forgiven you, you will disappear from my life.” She figured there was no harm in saying
yes. After all, she wasn’t a fool. She wouldn’t knowingly walk into a fire. She wasn’t going to turn back or make the
same mistakes again Given that, why not use the opportunity to make Isaac disappear from her life for good?
Isaac was stunned. He wanted to embrace Brittany, but he was afraid she would get angry. He held himself back,
then slowly moved closer, “Okay, one year. It’s a deal” As Brittany met his intense gaze, she felt a strange sense of
satisfaction.
