“What’s so urgent that you’ve gotta take off now? Don’t you care about your own life? Look at that gash

on your forehead. It’s already been stitched up a few times. If it tears open again, can you handle that?”

She lifted her hand, lightly touching her forehead.

Seeing that she seemed to take his words to heart, James hurriedly said, “Just chill here for a few

days, okay?”

James lounged around, waiting for a bit before Lucian returned.

Lucian came back in a fresh set of clothes and looked at James in surprise, “What the hell are you

doing here?”

waited silently for it to be done.

As the nurse was about to leave, she suddenly turned to look at Lucian.

“Sir, do you need treatment for the wound on your back? The nurse asked awkwardly, eyeing Lucian’s

handsome face

James blinked, recalling how Randal had hit him on the back with a bottle last night. He probably got

cut by the broken glass.

Allison’s eyes widened in concern, “You’re hurt?”

Did it happen when he was saving her last night? She was half–conscious then and her ears were filled

with noise, so she was unable to hear anything.

But she had a vague feeling. He was taking on several thugs alone. No matter how skilled he was, it

was impossible to walk away unscathed.

He got hurt because of her…

She hung her head, feeling guilty. But then, Lucian’s dismissive voice broke through her thoughts,

“Don’t overthink it. It’s got nothing to do with you”

James rolled his eyes helplessly at Lucian’s attitude. How could he possibly win a girl’s heart like this?

Allison was discharged from the hospital after three days.

She hadn’t seen Lucian since that day, and she thought he hadn’t come back. But on the day she left,

the nurse said admiringly, “Ms. Zimmer, your boyfriend is really good to you”

Allison turned pale and laughed, “You misunderstood. He’s not my boyfriend.”

“No way! Who else would come to see you late at night every day and stay till dawn?”

Allison was taken aback. Lucian had been coming to see her every night?

Due to her head injury, she had been sleeping early these past few days. By midnight, she would

already be out cold.

“By the way, is his back injury serious?”

Lucian. Her soft hand landed on his chest, drawing circles gently.

This man, with his prestigious background and handsome looks, was the focus of all the women in the

room. Yet no one dared approach him because he was too dangerous.

However, Nadine was different. She was bold and the most popular woman at the club. She believed
