Chapter 1075
How could he have the audacity to claim he ever loved her mother? Whenever Bruce
brought up her mother’s name now, Thalassa was consumed by a rage so fierce she could
kill him.
To hear the name Evelyn from Bruce’s lips was an insult to her memory!
“Don’t make me sick. Your daughter is Susan! I have nothing to do with you!” Thalassa
growled with fury.
The hatred she had for Bruce was once a suppressed whisper, but now it roared
unrestrained.
“Calm down, will ya? I’m in a decent mood for now, but if you keep up with that nasty talk,
I might just get riled up enough to let slip something you’d rather keep under wraps,”
Bruce threatened over the phone.
“What the hell do you want?” Thalassa hissed through clenched teeth.
Bruce was still holding that damn video over her head – a pure bluff at this point, as he

“Here’s the thing,” Bruce, touching his nose on the other end, said, “I’m a bit strapped for
cash at the moment. Why don’t you wire me a cool two million?”
He said it as if it was the most natural request in the world, without a hint of politeness.
Thalassa was so enraged she laughed, “Why should your financial woes be my concern?
Your precious Susan climbed the social ladder and snagged Lysander, didn’t she? Go ask
her for the money! Leave me out of it!”
“Hey, listen…” Bruce started, but the line went dead.
Furious, Bruce tossed his phone on the desk, a sinister glint in his eyes.
Thalassa, what makes you so bold? You’ll spend your life dancing to my tune! He thought.
Back in the hospital room, Thalassa tossed her phone aside after ending the call. The
simmering anger, which she had barely contained, flared up once more with Bruce’s call,
pulling at her nerves and causing her stomach to churn with discomfort.
She gently caressed her belly, soothingly whispering, “It’s okay, baby. Mommy didn’t
mean to get upset. I promise, no more anger.”
Her rage hurt not only herself but the precious life inside her.
Bruce’s shameless words were simply intolerable.
Before the video was erased, she would have been at Bruce’s mercy, ready to sell her
soul.

to give him the two million.
But things were different now. She had Atticus erase the leverage Bruce held over her. She
would never be threatened by him again.
Taking deep breaths, Thalassa calmed herself down. She had to admit, her anger
stemmed not only from Bruce’s vile threats but also from remembering Evelyn’s words.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmEvelyn had been at the Draven International Hotel that day too, intending to meet
Thalassa when she witnessed Susan, disheveled, exiting Lysander’s room before heading
to Joshua’s.
Susan had been in Lysander’s room, her clothes in disarray.
Had she succeeded? Had she slept with Lysander?
The mere thought of Susan’s state being due to Lysander sparked an inexplicable fury and
frustration in Thalassa.
Earlier, she even explicitly mentioned to Bruce that Susan had snagged Lysander and told
him to ask her for money directly. It was just a ploy to extract information from Bruce
about the closeness between Susan and Lysander.
If Susan was in a position to ask Lysander for money, to have a say in his presence, didn’t
that imply they had been intimate?
Yet, Thalassa was too cowardly to even hear the answer.
In a moment of impulsiveness, she had thrown out the idea of Susan climbing the social
ladder with Lysander, and then hung up without waiting for a reply.
She wanted to seem indifferent, but in the heat of the moment, her deepest feelings
betrayed her with impulsive words, and she lacked the courage to face the truth.
