Chapter 1100
Thalassa had said it plainly enough, but her actions could only cause Susan pain without actually
tearing her mouth.
If her intent was genuine, she would’ve grabbed each side with her hands and yanked outward with all
her might, easily tearing it.
“Thalassa, you’ve lost it! Let go of me!” Susan’s teeth chattered with pain, yet her defiance. was
unyielding.
“I’ve gone mad, sure, but killing you wouldn’t even be a crime!” Thalassa yanked Susan’s head back by
her hair with one hand while the other clawed at her face, pulling hard.
Susan’s face, already stinging from a prior slap, throbbed with pain as Thalassa’s fury became evident.
If Susan didn’t back down, Thalassa might actually follow through with
her threat.
Susan was a master of deception and manipulation, skilled at taking verbal hits if it meant securing her
own safety.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” she blurted, trying to appease Thalassa. “You’re the bigger person here, don’t

say it was a workplace spat, you know, just colleagues clashing.”
Thalassa’s rage cooled slightly upon hearing the plea, and she released Susan. She dusted off her
hands with a look of revulsion, as if Susan herself was filth.
Thalassa snorted contemptuously, sparing Susan one last glance before striding out of
the restroom.
Her disgust for Susan was genuine, as was her rage. Yet Thalassa wasn’t irrational enough to commit
a crime of passion. Killing Susan would only bring her own downfall.
She was a mother, a daughter, loved and needed by many. She couldn’t afford to make a mistake that
would devastate her family.
So, no matter how much she loathed Susan, Thalassa restrained herself from causing
serious harm.
Susan’s chest heaved with rage, her eyes blazing as she watched Thalassa’s retreating figure. Her
hands clenched so tightly on the cold marble floor that her nails screeched, the pain going unnoticed.
The searing pain on her face and head, compounded by her inner turmoil, was close to breaking her.
How could she register the pain in her hands when her entire being was aflame with fury?

Chapter
After Thalassa left, Susan let out a feral scream, “Ah! Thalassa, I will destroy you!”
Struggling to her feet, she caught her reflection in the mirror, observing her disheveled appearance.
Her cheeks bore the stark imprint of Thalassa’s hand, swollen like a butchered pig.
The sight fueled her rage even further, her breaths coming in sharp gasps.
This was just her bad luck- not only stooping to some demeaning commercial for a quick buck but also
running into Thalassa of all people.
What a curse!
Meanwhile, Thalassa stormed out of the advertising agency, heading for the curb to hail a cab when
her phone rang.
It was Lysander.
Her heart skipped a beat; even a call from him felt oppressive.
Frowning, she answered, “What’s up?”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe fought to keep her voice level to hide the anger that still simmered within.
“Something wrong? You sound upset,” Lysander’s deep voice came through the phone, concern lacing
his words.
Thalassa was taken aback for a moment, then chuckled. He was probably worried about the baby, not
her. She couldn’t forget how coldly he’d treated her when he doubted the child was his, devoid of any
compassion.
“No, everything’s fine. What do you need?” Her tone was cool, almost distant.
After Evelyn claimed to have seen Susan leaving Lysander’s room, Thalassa had her suspicions but
wasn’t certain of any indiscretion between them.
However, after Susan’s blatant admission today, Thalassa knew without a doubt-they slept together.
At that moment, she felt a blend of anger, sorrow, and a burning sense of betrayal.
She wasn’t sure if her outburst at Susan was more about the insult to her mother – an
unforgivable transgression – or about Susan’s claims of closeness with Lysander.
Perhaps, it was both.
Detecting the coldness in Thalassa’s voice, Lysander’s eyebrows drew together slightly, “Who’s got you
riled up?”
