Chapter 1112
Thalassa had readied the data for the latest smartphone from the Crawley Group, along with the
information for the previous electronic gadgets.
After clocking out, she followed Ethan to the golf club.
She knew this place; she had been here once with Hertha, who was pursuing Alaric, creating a so-
called “chance” encounter in her bid to win his heart.
Unfortunately, her plan backfired. Not only did she fail to catch Alaric’s attention, but their friendship
also took a nosedive.
This golf club was a playground for the elite, a place where the rich and famous kicked back.
It was known for its steep fees.
Their client was already waiting, decked out in a gray and white tracksuit, topped with a white visor,
swinging his golf club with ease.
Ethan, with Thalassa in tow, approached and greeted, “Bruce, hope we haven’t kept you waiting too

The man about to take a swing paused, looked over his shoulder, and upon seeing Thalassa, a fleeting
shadow crossed his face. He then turned to Ethan with a smile, “Mr. Ethan, glad you could make it.
Come over for a drink.”
Handing his club off to a nearby caddy, he led the way to a shaded seating area under a large parasol.
Thalassa’s mood plummeted at the sight of this so-called client. Her grip tightened around the folders
as realization dawned on her.
Bruce was the client?
Was he seriously about to invest two hundred thousand in stocks?
Where on earth did he get that kind of money?
Just days ago, he had called her, threatening to release the video unless she wired him two million.
She had flat-out refused. And now, Bruce suddenly had the funds?
Even more perplexing was the fact that Lysander had uncovered evidence connecting Bruce to her
kidnapping.
Why hadn’t he turned over the evidence to the police?
Why was Bruce still free instead of behind bars?
Seeing Bruce now, Thalassa wished nothing more than for him to be taken away by the

police, locked up forever, and never to be seen again.
“Ms. Everhart, what are you waiting for? Come join us,” Ethan said, noticing Thalassa had
fallen behind.
“Oh, right. On my way.’ Thalassa replied, snapping back to reality and walking over.
Ethan and Bruce sat opposite each other, with Bruce placing a prepared glass of juice in front of Ethan,

Then, turning to Thalassa, he put on a show of courtesy, “Ms. Everhart, don’t just stand
there, have a seat.”
“No thanks, I’m fine standing.” Thalassa replied, her face emotionless.
Ethan was somewhat aware of the tension between Thalassa and Bruce, so when
Thalassa showed clear reluctance, he did not insist.
He steered the conversation back to business, ‘So, Bruce, you’re interested in purchasing shares of our
company but have concerns about their stability, is that it? I’ve had my secretary compile all the
information on our products, not just the new releases but also the electronics we’ve sold in the past.
Our market performance has been rock-solid for the last three years; there’s nothing to worry about.”
As Ethan spoke, Thalassa, catching his cue, placed the stack of documents she was holding onto the
table.
Bruce glanced at Thalassa and then said to Ethan with a chuckle, “No rush, let’s not hurry through this.
My wife will have a look at the documents; she just stepped out to the restroom and will be back
shortly.”
“Sure, no problem,” Ethan replied, picking up his glass of juice and taking a sip.
