Chapter 717
“I understand. I’ll behave.” Elowen’s soft voice promised. However, a hint of confusion and apprehension appeared in her bright eyes as she gazed at Lysander.
Dorian hung his head silently.
“Alright, you two can head out. Your mom and I will join you for breakfast later.” Lysander instructed.
“Okay.” Elowen held Dorian’s hand, leading him out of the room and thoughtfully closing the door behind them.
“Why are you scaring the kids?” Thalassa asked Lysander with obvious anger in her voice.
They were still so young, and he had already started intimidating them. She now believed what Fitch had said yesterday. Lysander’s patience was thin, and he was often harsh with the children.
Lysander glanced at her, meeting her huffy expression with a calm one. “Discipline is necessary.” He said simply.
That’s YOUR idea of discipline, not ours!” Thalassa retorted, struggling to sit up despite her aching back and hips.

She was scantily clad and was grateful that the blanket was securely covering her. It would have been terribly embarrassing if the children had seen her in such a state.
Thalassa hated seeing her children mistreated. They were her precious little treasures, and she would not stand for them being frightened or intimidated. Why did he feel the need to scare them? Why was he mean to them? Her heart ached at the thought of her precious children being frightened.
“In this house, we follow my rules. The same applies in the outside world. It’s survival of the fittest. Don’t you understand that?” Lysander reasoned.
Thalassa was speechless and shot him a glare before saying, “Rules are made by those in power. I understand that much.”
She was willing to put up with being mistreated, but her children were too young to be subjected to such harshness.
She made an attempt to get out of bed, but felt too embarrassed and quickly retracted her leg.
Lysander was still watching her, which made her feel awkward and uncomfortable.
“Is there anything I haven’t seen that you need to hide?” Lysander’s deep voice rang out.
Thalassa blushed deeply as she gritted her teeth and stood up. She could feel his heated gaze on her back, but she ignored it. She headed towards the closet to find clothes before heading into the bathroom to shower.
The familiar sight of the bathroom made her face heat up once more..
Every corner of the bathroom was a reminder of Lysander’s wild antics from the previous night.
She wanted to stay with Evelyn last night to avoid him, but it seemed she couldn’t escape him after all.

Her children being here was her biggest concern.
When she came out of the bathroom fully dressed, Lysander was no longer in the room.

The table was also set with succulent shrimp balls and seasonal vegetables.
Lysander was serving each child, giving them each five shrimp balls and two slices of veggies.
Once he was done, he told them in a low, resonant voice. “Eat up.”
“Okay, thank you, Daddy.” All four children were obedient and seemed quite happy. After thanking their father, they began to eat. Their bright, innocent eyes shone like stars as they happily consumed their meal.
Thalassa stood halfway down the staircase, watching the heartwarming scene below.
For a moment, she thought that Lysander was actually quite gentle with the children.
But then she remembered how he had frightened them earlier.
Thalassa was torn. She was unable to figure out whether Lysander truly liked the children or not.
She walked over and took a seat at the table.
Just as she picked up her fork, Fitch rushed in to give Lysander some news. “Lysander, Faye is outside. She wants to see you.”
