Chapter 839
“Head over to Sinclair Group to discuss the handling of this debacle,” Leopold tossed out nonchalantly before
hopping in his car and speeding off.
Amelia hesitated for a moment. Unease still washed over her so she decided to drive behind him.
Leopold arrived at Sinclair Group, but rather than seeking out Lysander, he made a beeline for the Public Relations
department.
Typically, it was their job to handle such incidents.
Leopold laid out his case to the head of PR, “A smartphone manufactured by Sinclair Group malfunctioned, causing
the deaths of two workers. You need to release a statement immediately, acknowledge your shortcomings, and

The PR head was in a pickle. Releasing such a statement would be akin to admitting that Sinclair Group was
responsible for the faulty product, and consequently, the fatalities.
This would undoubtedly tarnish the company’s reputation, cause their stocks to plummet, and bring a wave of
negative publicity.
It wasn’t just a matter of two billion dollars; it would put the entire reputation of Sinclair Group at stake.
The decision was beyond his pay grade.
As he grappled with the dilemma, Lysander walked in. The tension in the room instantly spiked.
Upon seeing Lysander, Leopold’s demeanor hardened.
“Lysander,” he began sternly, “are you reluctant to have the Sinclair Group release a statement to take the toll?”
Lysander’s gaze was piercing and intense as he retorted, “Is this your well–thought–out solution?”
Leopold locked eyes with Lysander’s piercing and adamant gaze. His heart sank.
At that moment, Amelia rushed into the office. Noticing the standoff between Leopold and Lysander, she asked in a
nervous tone, “What’s going on? Is there anything so serious that you two, uncle and nephew, need to confront
each other like this?”
Upon seeing Amelia, Leopold’s fists clenched at his sides; his jaw set and a hint of redness clouded his amber eyes.
“Yes,” he gritted out, “I was the one who had the phosphorus placed in the smartphones. The explosion was
ultimately my doing! I came here today to rectify my mistakes and I was just testing your reaction earlier!”
“What?” Amelia was stunned.
‘All of this started because of me. I have nothing left to lose. It’s time to end this,” Leopold declared. And before

His perilous move made Amelia’s heart lurch. She rushed forward to grab him, but Lysander beat her to it. He
lunged at Leopold, managing to grab a handful of his shirt. But it was too slippery and Leopold’s body was carrying
a considerable gravity.
As Lysander’s grip slipped, Leopold plunged from the window.
Lysander’s eyes widened in shock as his body turned taut.
Leopold! Amelia screamed in anguish.
Thalassa and Ethan had arrived at Sinclair Group to inquire about the investigation results of the accident, only to
find a swarm of reporters converging on the place, likely for the same reason.
They were making their way towards the building when something fell from above, hitting the ground with a
sickening thud. Blood splattered everywhere.
e reporters up front shrieked and scrambled back.
