Chapter 849
In the blink of an eye, the kids sprawled over her were lifted one by one and placed aside.
Lysander stood before her, his deep gaze looking down on her. “Time to head back,” he declared.
His voice was low and magnetic, seemingly calm but unequivocally domineering.
Thalassa froze. She didn’t say anything as she looked into his deep gaze.
Hertha, sitting nearby, felt the immense tension. She quickly rose up and stepped aside to make room for Lysander.
She forced a chuckle and agreed, “Yes, Thalassa. The weather is unpredictable; it could rain any moment so you

Hertha’s words brought Thalassa back to reality. She avoided Lysander’s gaze, stood up, and walked over to take
her kids’ hands, “Let’s go home.”
“Okay, let’s go home.” The little ones placed their tiny, soft hands into hers.
Pairs of bright eyes, which were filled with dependence and love, bore into her.
Looking at the kids’ innocent, soft eyes, Thalassa’s heart was a bit healed. She led the two kids by the hand towards
the roadside.
Lysander’s black Rolls-Royce was parked at the curb; its dark opulence was impossible to overlook.
“Thalassa, I have to go now. Bye, little ones. Maybe I will take you out next time.” Hertha said her farewells and
drove off.
Hertha had brought Thalassa to the beach, but now that Lysander had arrived so naturally, Thalassa should get in
his car. She would just leave the couple alone.
Once Thalassa and the kids were in the car, Lysander got in and David drove them home. The kids, a little tired,
snuggled up to Thalassa and soon fell asleep. Without their chatter, the car was unusually quiet.
Thalassa watched the landscape rushing by outside the window, remaining silent all the way.
Soon, the car pulled into the driveway of the Royal Estates.
Thalassa pushed the door open and got out of the car. The kids were now awake and full of energy. They grabbed
her hand and headed towards the house, not giving her a chance to see Lysander’s reaction.

“Mom, come in. We’ll burrow under the covers.” Elowen was bustling around, arranging for Thalassa to sit on the
bed, helping her take off her shoes, and instructing her to get into the bed.
Thalassa didn’t refuse but allowed Elowen to make the arrangements. She sat on the bed, and Elowen climbed up
and snuggled into her arms, pulling the covers over them.
“Mom, let’s sleep with Dad tonight. He can hold both of us and we won’t be scared of the thunder,” Elowen pouted,
saying in a childish voice as she looked at Thalassa with large, bright, and innocent eyes.
Thalassa gently stroked her little head and said, “Don’t worry, there won’t be any more thunder.”
“But what if it thunders again tonight? Let’s sleep with Dad. His arms are big,” Elowen insisted.
Just as Thalassa was about to respond, she felt a strong presence enter the room,
