Chapter 990
Thalassa’s gaze flitted nervously across the living room where, to her dismay, she noticed the slipcovers on the sofa
had been changed. Just last night, the couch was adorned with a deep gray velvet cover, and today, it was clad in
dark gray leather.

The new cover was undoubtedly due to the marks they had left behind on the couch the previous night.
As this thought dawned on her, Thalassa’s eyes shot up, meeting Lysander’s gaze, which was as deep and
mysterious as a star-filled night sky.

exuded was intimidating. Feeling a chill run down her spine, she instinctively shrank back into the chair..
“I was here for work.” she added quickly.
Lysander’s penetrating stare never wavered, as if he was trying to see right through her.
His presence was overwhelming, like an icy dagger pressing against her skin, sharp enough to draw blood.
Thalassa’s skin prickled with a numbing pain as she withstood the immense pressure.
Just as she felt she was about to break, Lysander spoke up in a low voice, “Do you ever come to me without an
agenda?”
She never sought him out just for the sake of seeing him. Her playful behavior and the kisses she had initiated in
the past were all strategic moves to ensure her access to Royal Estates and see the children whenever she wished.
He had once been foolishly content with her coquettish acts, like a lovesick teenager.
However, after being let down so many times, Lysander had learned to remain composed.
Having said his piece, Lysander picked up the mug in front of him, took a sip of his coffee, and stated, “Tell the
Crawley Group to prepare for the breach of contract penalty. We’ll settle this according to the terms agreed upon.”
Thalassa was taken aback. She hadn’t expected Lysander to discuss business matters so seriously, and he had cut
straight to the chase with a solution.
The Crawley Group could terminate the contract, but they would need to compensate for the breach as stipulated.
No additional responsibilities were to be imposed, which was, in a way, fair.
Regaining her composure, Thalassa quickly replied, “Alright, I’ll inform Mr. Ethan as soon as I get back.”
Just as she was about to stand and leave, she remembered that her phone was still in Lysander’s possession.

Hesitating momentarily, she bit her lip before mustering the courage to sit back down- overcoming not only her
fear of the office but also her apprehension about facing Lysander.
With an effortful smile, she said to Lysander, “Actually, there’s a personal matter I wanted to ask you about.”
Lysander paused with his coffee mug in hand, then placed it on the coffee table and looked up at Thalassa with
those deep-set eyes, “What is it?”
“Did you manage to find my phone yesterday?” Thalassa asked directly. There was no point in beating around the
bush with Lysander; being straightforward would save time and potentially avoid irritating him.
“What if I did?” Lysander asked, his voice deep and inscrutable.
