“Help! Help me!” she shrieked at the sight of the slowly growing bloodstain.
Dylan was already dressed in a neatly pressed suit that his assistant had brought him and was calling
someone with a cigar in his mouth. With a fox-like smile, he said, “I hope you can forgive me, dear
cousin. I owed her brother a favor in jail and I didn't have anything else to repay him with. What do you
know? His sister turns out to be a paparazzi.”
Milana, who was still sitting in her own pool of blood, simply watched open-mouthed as he walked past
her, completely unbothered. It was as if he didn't even see the blood.
She fumbled for her own phone and realized she had turned it off, so she turned it on and tried to call
for help.
Suddenly, a woman and two men walked into the room.
That woman was the exact same woman who had mistaken her for an escort yesterday and introduced
her to Dylan. She looked at Milana coldly and said to the two men, “Dress her up and get her onto the
car.”
The two men began walking toward her.
“What do you think you're doing?” Milana screeched, trying to avoid them.
The woman simply said, “If you don't want to die, you'd better do whatever we said. Otherwise, I have
many ways to make sure you never leave this hotel alive. By then, no one can save you.”
Milana finally fell into a silent panic as she clutched her cramping stomach with both hands. With a pale
face, she got dragged out and onto the car.
In the hospital, Milana had been put under anesthesia and sent in for an operation.
When she emerged and woke up from the anesthesia, the doctor told her that her child was gone.
“Should I inform your fiancé?” the woman asked, rubbing salt on the wound.
Milana lay on the hospital bed weakly, her stomach still cramping up in pain. However, what hurt her
the most was the doctor's announcement of her never being able to have a child again because of her
own doing.
When Zayne and Isabella finally rushed over, Zayne was completely calm compared to Isabella, who
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtwas in a state of anxiety.
He was willing to come out and have fun with those friends of his and had agreed to sleep with Lola.
He had even been willing to give Milana off to another man, so he was basically already completely
open toward the whole thing.
He didn't feel anything for her anyway. To him, it didn't make a difference between whether or not he
got cheated on. Either way, he was doing the same thing to Lola's husband.
Isabelle slapped Milana across the face the moment she walked into the hospital room.
Smack!
Milana had just fallen asleep and jolted up from the pain instantly.
Milana looked at Isabelle with her pale face. “What the hell? Did you forget to take your medicine today
or something?”
Isabella lurched forward and slapped Milana continuously across the face. When her hands got tired,
she began using her handbag to hit Milana as well.
“You shameless wh*re! How dare you lose my grandson because you couldn't keep it in your pants for
one day?” Isabella wailed, tears streaming down her face. She was crying for her grandchild, who had
died because the mother had been so promiscuous.
Isabella suddenly felt incredibly regretful that she had rushed to pay for this shameless woman's
house.
In Trident Group, Nina had just gone to the pantry to answer her mother's call.
The pantry was empty and Nina had a frown on her face as she said, “The baby's already gone. Can
you stop crying already? Just learn your lesson. It's not like there's anything else you can do.”
“My poor grandchild!”
“Your grandchild?” Nina said, speechless. “No offense, but you don't even know if the child is related to
you.”
Back at the hospital, Isabella was walking to the bus station with her bag in hand. Her daughter's words
had woken her up.
She had a point.
Isabella didn't even know if that unborn child belonged to her son or not.
She got onto the bus and still ended up crying anyway. Her eyes were red and swollen, and her only
source of comfort was at the thought of how she would force that little b*tch to cough up the down
payment of the house.
The bus continued driving on and stopped at a red light next to where a shopping mall seemed to be
having some sort of promotional event.
Some older women on the bus began to talk loudly.
“That toilet paper is so cheap! Twenty for a whole box? Are they serious?”
“Those shoes are the exact same ones that my daughter and I came over here to try on! They were
over eight hundred at the time even after discount, but they're only three hundred and ninety-nine now!”
Isabella glanced over.
She shouldn't have, though, because her eyes landed on someone she couldn't be more familiar with
standing at the entrance and handing out flyers.
“Wait, wait! I'm getting off here!” Isabella yelled. The driver kept saying that it wasn't a drop-off point
and that she had to wait for the next stop, but Isabella wouldn't have it.
She finally fought her way off the bus and walked over to Avery sneakily, making sure that it was her
before saying anything.
“Hello! Please check out these promotions that we're having today,” Avery would say to passersby as
per the instructions her boss had given.
Isabella hid behind a sign board and took a picture of Avery to send to Nina, asking what was going on.
“What else could it be? Avery's father is so sick that she has to work more jobs to afford the medical
bills.”
“I thought she became some rich man's sugar baby! Did she get dumped or something?” Isabella
asked.
“Just forget about that rumor! Whoever spread that around is really going to get it one day,” Nina said,
worried for her mom's common sense. “Have you ever seen a sugar baby handing out flyers under the
hot sun? The potential sun damage couldn't be reversed by any amount of expensive products!”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIsabella looked at Avery who was working hard to pass out the flyers. She suddenly began to feel
heavy-hearted, thinking about everything that had happened in the last month. It had been Isabella's
fault for mistaking Milana for a good person and throwing away a daughter-in-law as hardworking and
genuine as Avery.
Isabella sent the picture of Avery handing out flyers to Zayne with a text. Zayne, listen to me. Go and
get Avery back. I'll send you her location right now.
Cayden was sitting in his office at Trident Group with an intense aura around him. After finishing up his
work, he was rushed to bring his kids to Toby's house.
Dylan had been released from jail and they had invited a whole bunch of relatives to celebrate. Toby
had even gone to the effort of planning an actual banquet.
“Granduncle Toby!” Rory ran toward Toby excitedly the moment Xavier arrived at the Musk residence.
He picked her up happily.
At the same time, one of the relatives' children was swimming in the pool and Dylan had ordered an
assistant to keep the child safe.
Obviously, the assistant had to obey. He put his phone down and stripped his clothes before diving in.
Suddenly, the assistant's phone rang with a text notification.
Dylan glanced at the phone nonchalantly and saw a familiar name, 'Avery' on the screen. He picked it
up and scanned through it.
It was a text from Fernando: This is Avery's current address. It's my fault that you didn't get her last
night, so why don't you drop by this address to check her out?
A picture of Avery passing out flyers was attached.
Dylan sent the picture to himself and silently memorized the address of the mall before deleting the
message from his assistant's phone.
Just as Dylan was preparing to get his keys and drive off, Cayden walked in with his kids.
It was the first time Dylan had seen Zachary. He had gone to jail before Zachary was barely a month
old, and after five years, he couldn't help but feel like the child bore an uncanny resemblance to Avery
from the picture just now.
