Zayne came over and turned the doorknob right then.
However, the door did not budge despite his multiple attempts to open it.
It turned out that Cayden had locked the door from the inside out, but it was only a normal doorknob
and was not really secure.
Meanwhile, in the room, Avery felt increasingly ill at ease as her face turned pale.
The man before her was kissing her fervently. She could only cast a wistful glance at the man as she
tried to shake her head.
The kiss lasted an excruciatingly long time. He went deeper and deeper as he claimed her on the lips.
After some time, he finally stopped. However, the fiery lust burning in his eyes was unmistakable.
He lowered his cheek and brushed it against hers, feeling the warmth of her skin inching into his. At the
same time, he did not let go of his one hand that was fastening both of her hands as he pressed down
harder on the heat between her legs with his other hand.
“No...”
Feeling his touch, Avery shook.
She felt her legs going wobbly, and she found herself having to lean against something to steady
herself. Losing her balance, she stumbled deeper into his embrace instead.
“Let me go... Don't do this,” she pleaded in a small voice.
Her eyes brimmed with tears when the man finally let her go.
Meanwhile, the person outside the room was rapping at the door.
Zayne did not give up when he did not manage to open the door. He thought that Avery was throwing a
tantrum and refusing to open the door for him, for he knew that he was not on his best behavior when
he was drunk.
He tried to calm himself down and lit a cigarette after a few minutes as he tried to collect his thoughts.
However, he grew more and more anxious with each passing second as he looked at the unrelenting
doorknob.
Zayne continued to try opening the door forcefully. It was as if he would stop at nothing to open the
door, even if it meant ruining the doorknob.
In the end, he hurled the cigarette butt in his hand to the ground and declared, “Avery, do you think I

Avery felt a stab in her chest.
She regretted her decision to agree to be together with Zayne a year ago; regretted that she still
harbored hope for the man; regretted that she clung to the hope that she would have a happy life.
How foolish of me.
Cayden was seemingly oblivious to Zayne's presence outside the door. He did not seem to care about
the fact that there was still a third person in the house as he lost himself in her exquisite scent.
He slowly inched his hand that was between her legs upward while clutching the thin sleeping gown in
his other hand.
His gaze was southbound, tracing the contours of her alluring curves before being rewarded by the
most bewitching sight between her legs.
Avery was struggling to break herself free, but she did not want to knock on the door and cause a
commotion that would arouse Zayne's suspicion.
She certainly did not wish for two men to look at her half-naked body at the same time, especially
Zayne.
The man would just conveniently label her as a slut.
“Oh, you have no idea what a seductive little minx you are in this sleeping gown.” Cayden lowered his
head and claimed her lips once again, merciless and unrelenting.
His large hand reached between her legs.
She felt wetness pooling in her nether region with his touch.
Her body's reaction was a telltale sign of the desire burning in her body.
Zayne was right on the other side of the door. Realizing that only a door was standing between her and
Zayne, Avery dared not let out a sound, much less make any move. Her sobs were muffled by his
passionate kisses.
Tears pooled in her eyes. Cayden paid no heed to her pleas and continued to press down harder on
her.
A sense of despair washed over Avery. There was nothing she could do that would make him stop.
She had not deliberately dressed up for him.
Avery was living alone, and she had the habit of sleeping without clothes on. She had only donned a
sleeping gown for a nap in the afternoon. The sleeping gown was not racy in the slightest as it was long
and reached her ankles.
Who would have thought that the man currently kissing her would pop in out of the blue?
He did not give her any chance to explain and was certain that she had purposely dressed up to
seduce him.
Meanwhile, Zayne had his back against the locked door as he tried to calm himself. Then, he asked,
“Ery, I know you're right on the other side of the door. I'm having my back against the door right now.
Do you feel me? I know that you still love me...”
“Enough...” Avery pinned her legs together and struggled with her back against the door.
Cayden removed himself from her lips and opened his eyes furiously. His height made him tower over
her as he glared at the petite woman in his embrace.
Avery's eyes grew misty. She could not let out a sound lest the situation worsened. It might be nothing
for a man like Cayden, but if she was exposed right then...
She looked at Cayden's furrowed brows and tense jawline and gulped. Silence reigned between the
two of them, and it felt like time had paused as they stared into each other's eyes. Avery could not help
but be intimidated by the man's domineering aura. She could find no words to explain it, but she would
not dream of defying the man.
“Turn around,” Cayden ordered in a dangerously low voice.
Even though Avery did not have much experience in the matter, she was bedded by another man five
years ago.
Cayden's words harked her back to the unbecoming night; the night that she so wished she could
erase from her memories.
Unfortunately, she remembered every single unbearable thrust that night.
She shook her head and could not utter anything aloud right then. Even so, she knew no matter what
she said, it would merely fall on deaf ears. Cayden would only do as he pleased.
Avery had had enough of this kind of life whereby everyone else could dictate how she lived. She
gritted her teeth and swore that she would sue Cayden if he dared to cross the line. She would stop at
nothing to make him pay.

She used to care too much about what her father thought and felt, putting her in shackles in every
aspect of her life.
Then, a somewhat agreeable boyfriend came along, and she continued her people-pleasing ways,
caring too much about what her boyfriend thought and felt. She became timid, fearful of everything and
anything in her way. However, she gained nothing in the end. Leonardo became another person's
father, and her boyfriend became the man who stepped all over her dignity.
After losing everything in life, she somehow found solace in her despair.
She had lost everything, but it also meant she could finally live her life the way she wanted without
caring what other people might think.
She was finally free!
“Are you going to reject me for the crazy man on the other side of the door?” Cayden eyed her coldly.
He gently pinched her chin and lowered his head to kiss her.
It was a light peck on her lips, nothing like the hot and fervid kiss moments ago. Before she could
respond, Cayden had already removed himself and turned her around in a swift motion.
Now, she had her back against him.
Both of her hands were held up by Cayden as he pinned them against the door.
The man grabbed her sleeping gown with his other hand and lifted it to reveal her ravishing body
beneath.
With the sleeping gown out of sight, her enticing back was a feast for the man's eyes.
Cayden's breathing turned erratic as he lowered his head and planted his thin lips gingerly against her
velvety smooth skin...
“Ah, no... Ah!” Avery felt a chill running down her spine as she arched her head back, a soft moan
escaping her lips.
Just when Cayden was pulling down his zipper, Zayne felt the door's soft rattle.
He was even more certain that Avery was right on the other side of the door, just like him.
“Are you crying?” Zayne asked as he lowered his head in guilt. He breathed in deeply and put his hand
on the door that was slightly shaking. The image of Avery leaning against the door and sobbing made
his heart wrench.
“Ery, answer me... Are you crying?”
Zayne cursed at himself under his breath. I'm such an *ss for making her cry!
