Nina nodded, her eyes wide with a mix of excitement and concern, "It looks like he didn't move on to his next life, and he's been
secretly following us. We can't harm him with our oak wands, and we need to tell Uncle Leopold and Aunt Aurelia. They'd be thrilled
to see Liam again."
William interjected quickly, "We don't have all the facts yet. How about we try to summon him tonight and get sanswers first?
If we run to the adults now, they'll think we're just pulling sprank."
Beverley agreed, "William's got a point. Tonight, we'll call him out and clear things up."
Back in the study, she whipped out her phone and started scouring online forums for the proper way to summon a spirit at
midnight.
Despite the late hour, none of the kids felt a hint of sleepiness, their anticipation keeping them wide awake.
Nina was busy getting scandles, planning to burn them for their little cousin Liam, just like they did on TV shows.
Mira was assembling a toy car, "If Liam knew | made him a car, he'd be so happy."

William couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. Ever since they suspected the little ghost was Liam, the fear had vanished, and
with it, the fun. But then again, the little ghost was indeed Liam, since it was him all along.
Skyler glanced at William and whispered so softly it was almost inaudible, "What if we don't call Liam over but instead attract some
other spirit?"
William coughed uncomfortably at the thought.
"There aren't supposed to be ghosts at Mossy Rock Retreat, right?"
"It's an old estate, who knows what's lurking there," Skyler said with a playful stick of her tongue.
William shivered. He liked thrilling games, sure, but the idea of actually summoning a ghost was not what he had in mind.
"If a real ghost shows up, we'll just use our oak wands on it."
"Right," Skyler nodded, convinced that the old lore still held spower, just in case.
Nina glanced at the two boys, "Don't use the oak wands, and it could hurt Liam. He's our little brother, and he's had such a rough
start. We need to protect him."
William added, "We're just worried it might not be Liam we're calling. What if there's more than one spirit at Mossy Rock Retreat?"
His words brought back the eerie atmosphere.
Nina looked at Beverley questioningly, "Your spell, could it possibly call forth other spirits?"
Beverley scratched her head, "It might be possible. People in the forums say it's kind of a random draw, like opening a mystery
box."
"What if we specifically call out for Liam?" Mira suggested.
"His nis Liam," Nina chanted softly.
A sudden thought struck Beverley, and she raised her voice, "Wait a second, Leopold did something weird yesterday. He had the
chapel remove Liam's memorial plaque. Could it be that Liam visited him? Maybe Uncle Leopold wants Liam to move on and

Nina's eyes widened, "Uncle Leopold saw Liam too?"
"I read that if children pass away too soon after birth, you shouldn't keep a memorial for them. It makes them cling to this world
instead of moving on," Beverley explained.
"So Uncle Leopold knew this and that's why he took down Liam's plaque?" Nina pondered.
"That must be it," Beverley affirmed with a nod.
Inside, William felt a rush of annoyance. He almost forgot that his own nwas Liam. But Aurelia had mentioned that since his
nwas on a memorial plaque, it was considered bad luck, and they'd change it for a new one.
"We should still be prepared. If Liam is the one who shows up, great. But if it's sother ghost, we'll have to be ready to use our
oak wands on it."
The others nodded grimly, gripping their makeshift weapons a little tighter.
