Chapter 560
“I will care for her for the rest of my life!” Jonathan thought determinedly.
Meanwhile, Levi was sent back to the Sabatini family. Calvin rushed to the Sabatini family as soon as he got the
news.
“Mr. Sabatini, where were you taken today?” Calvin’s face was filled with anxiety.
Levi looked at Calvin and couldn’t help but sigh, thinking, “This is the first time I’ve seen this boy so him for so many
years. And the reason for his apprehension must be…”
He questioned out loud, “You’re anxious about Rosalie, aren’t you?”
Calvin’s pupils contracted abruptly. “So you really went to treat her hand today?” he asked.
after knowing
“Yes. This is the first time I was ever brought somewhere while being blindfolded.” Levi stated. “There is a man who
stayed with the young lady. I think his surname is Youngblood. Is he Jonathan?”
Calvin pursed his thin lips. “Yes, it’s Jonathan.”
“Looks like you’ve found yourself a rival,” Levi remarked, contemplating the situation. “Calvin’s head over heels for
Rosalie. No matter who captures her heart, it’s going to be a tough battle for him,” he thought.
Calvin asked, “Do you know where you were taken?”
“I was kept in the dark throughout the journey. The car must have traveled for about 20 minutes, and I was brought
to a manor with a touch of history. The interior exuded a serene and traditional style, and the structures seemed
far from new. The entire manor seemed quite spacious, but I only caught a glimpse of one corner,” Levi recalled.
Calvin’s brows furrowed as he heard about the aged manor. “Mr. Sabatini was snatched from the clinic. There are

detour to avoid being caught,” he pondered.
“How was Rosie when you saw her?” Calvin inquired after a brief pause, his voice tinged with timidity as if fearing
unwelcome revelations.
“Nothing extraordinary. But… Jonathan seems to care a lot about her. Are you seriously going to compete with
Jonathan for her?” Levi inquired, an unusual moment of him being nosy.
“If it’s Rosalie, then I will,” Calvin responded with unwavering certainty.
Armed with valuable leads from Levi, Calvin wasted no time in his departure. These clues might hold the key to
finding Rosalie.
Meanwhile, as Rosalie slept in a hazy state in the dead of night, she had the same haunting nightmares of her
prison days. Her body felt as if it were being relentlessly kicked, each blow sending waves of pain coursing through
her.
Despite her continuous pleas, it seemed to make no difference. The duration of this pain was uncertain, leaving her
to wonder, “Am I going to die in jail? And who will be sad for me if I die?”
Suddenly, a familiar voice echoed, calling out to her. “What’s wrong, Rosie?”
‘Who is it? It sounds so familiar!
Who is it?
Who’s here to save me?’ Rosalie, caught in the throes of her subconscious torment, sought desperately for the
source of the voice.
“Ah!” Rosalie snapped awake, her body jolting upright from the bed.
“Another nightmare? Must I endure these haunting dreams again?” she mused, panting.
As she gasped for breath, a velvety voice suddenly sounded in her ear. “What did you dream of?”
Rosalie snapped her head up, and there was Jonathan, his face coming into view.
“Nothing!” she stammered, “It’s so late. Why are you in my room?”
“I couldn’t sleep,” Jonathan confessed, raising his hand with a tissue to gently wipe the sweat on her forehead. “You
sweated more tonight than when you were being treated during the day. Did you just dream about prison?”
Rosalie’s body tensed, a mix of shock and disbelief evident in her eyes. “He… knew?” she exclaimed inwardly.
“When you drifted off a moment ago, I caught bits of what you said,” he shared. He had guessed what she was
dreaming
about from her fragmented words, and that left him feeling more remorseful while he witnessed her vulnerable
and pained expression in slumber.
Rosalie responded with a bitter smile as she reminisced about the past when he was feverish, and she had
overheard him calling out to his parents. This time, roles were reversed.
“I dreamt about my time in prison. It used to be a recurring nightmare, but it’s much better now,” she casually
mentioned.
Jonathan’s lips tightened, and he abruptly questioned, “Did you start sleeping with the light on after we broke up?”
Rosalie stayed silent. She had been able to sleep in darkness in the Youngblood residence back then, but after their
separation, light became a necessity for her to drift into slumber.
Without the comforting glow, sleep eluded her.
Though Rosalie didn’t answer, Jonathan discerned the response from the expression on her face.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“I’m sorry,” he murmured.
Perhaps she was the only one in this world who could make him say those words.
At that moment, Rosalie grappled with how to respond.
“It’s late. You…”
“Can I stay over in this room tonight?” Jonathan interjected.
Rosalie’s surprise was evident. “Stay over?” she echoed, her mind racing with the thought, “Is he referring to what
I’m imagining?”
“I’ll just hold your hand. Don’t worry; I won’t do anything until you fall in love with me,” he assured her. “I just find it
difficult to fall asleep alone in that room.”
Even with her photos covering the walls, it only intensified his desire to be with her, even if it meant just silently
watching her as she slept.
In a sudden recollection, Rosalie thought of Jonathan’s bouts of insomnia. Apart from the days when he had a fever
and managed to sleep due to medication, she hadn’t seen him sleep much.
Minutes later, much to her own surprise, Rosalie acquiesced to Jonathan’s request to stay in her room with one
condition. She claimed the bed for herself, leaving him to improvise a makeshift bed on the floor beside hers. As
the night enveloped them in quiet, their hands instinctively sought each other’s warmth.
This scene brought Rosalie back to the early days of their acquaintance, back when they shared a rental house and
fell asleep hand in hand.
“Rosie.” Jonathan’s voice rang out.
Rosalie paused, and he continued, “Remember when we were renting a house, and you said that in the future, we
would huddle together for warmth and care for each other? I thought that even after breaking up, I could still have
you by my side like a sister. But… it turned out that just having you as my sister isn’t enough for me,” he confessed.
At the sight of her with Calvin, jealousy would consume him, overpowering his ability to rein in his emotions, and
causing him to lose all sense of composure.
