Chapter 731
Rosalie was surprised and said, “Okay. I’ll be right there.”
“Rosalie.” Warren’s voice was deep and hoarse as he spoke. “I rarely ask for help, but now I’m begging you with all
my heart. Please, persuade Amelia to accept my liver and convince her to proceed with the transplantation.”
Rosalie was taken aback. Having had contact with Warren, she understood how challenging it must have been for a
man of his character to humble himself and utter these words.
The situation was not only dire for Amelia, but it was also an incredibly desperate situation for Warren.
If Amelia were to pass away, Warren’s life would truly become a living hell. “Got it,” Rosalie answered.
When she ended the call, Jonathan asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Amelia has been admitted to the hospital,” Rosalie explained. “The doctor has emphasized that she urgently
requires a liver transplant; otherwise, time will run out, and all hope for her will be lost.” She stood up and declared,
“I must go to the hospital and persuade Amelia to consent to the operation.”
“I’ll go with you,” Jonathan replied.
“But your job…”
“I’ll deal with those documents later. I’m worried about you going to the hospital by yourself,” he said.
“I’ll have a bodyguard accompanying me, won’t I? There’s nothing to worry about,” she reassured him.
“I’m still concerned,” he whispered in a hushed tone, entertaining the thought of even purchasing an island and
taking her there so she couldn’t go anywhere. Perhaps that would be the only way he could truly feel at ease.
When Jonathan and Rosalie arrived at the hospital, they spotted Warren sitting on a bench outside the ward, his
face filled with despair. He hung his head low and clenched his hair tightly with both hands.

rushed forward and asked anxiously.
Suddenly, Warren raised his head and locked eyes with Rosalie. She was taken aback by the expression she saw on
his face.
It was an expression of excruciating sadness intertwined with profound despair. While Rosalie had witnessed
Warren’s painful and regretful expressions in the past, none of them had been as intense and profound as this one.
“Amelia is inside. Aiden and Amelia’s mother are also in there,” Warren uttered in a hoarse voice. “Rosalie, I beg of
you. Please, persuade her to accept my liver, no

matter what it takes. If she’s willing to undergo this surgery, I’ll do anything!” Rosalie’s gaze fixed on Warren’s
anguished and pitiable expression. Despite her anger and frustration, she couldn’t bring herself to accuse him.
Instead, she replied, “I’ll go in first to see Amelia and try to persuade her to go through with the surgery.”
After informing Jonathan, Rosalie entered the ward. Jonathan remained outside, his gaze directed downward at
Warren.
Lately, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he saw a reflection of himself in Warren as if Warren’s current
predicament might foreshadow his own future.
“No, that won’t happen to us. What occurred with Warren and Amelia won’t happen to Rosie and me. I’m just
worried over nothing!” Jonathan continued to reassure himself inwardly.
Inside the ward, Rosalie gazed at Amelia, who had already awakened.
At this moment, Amelia should have been relieved of some of her pain. Despite her pale complexion and the IV drip
on the back of her hand, she seemed quite energetic. Matilda and Aiden were sitting by her bedside, chatting with
her.
“Rosalie, why are you here?” Amelia asked.
“Warren informed me,” Rosalie began, taking a deep breath. “Amelia, please accept the surgery now. This is your
last chance. If you pass up this opportunity, there will be no hope for your illness.”
“Rosalie!” Amelia exclaimed, her anxiety evident as she was clearly concerned that Aiden might become aware of
her condition.
However, Rosalie had chosen to speak these words in front of the child, hoping that Aiden’s presence would inspire
Amelia to fight for her life.
“Amelia, I understand that these next few months are incredibly precious to you. You’re afraid that by taking this
risk, you might not even have a few months left. But… if you succeed, you’ll get to witness Aiden growing up,”
Rosalie emphasized. Rosalie paused, gently caressing her slightly raised abdomen. “Just like me, I faced a choice
where reducing the number of babies might have been safer. But as a mother, it’s incredibly difficult to give up any
one of my three children. So, I chose to take the risk.”
She continued her persuasion, “Amelia, now you have to take a chance as well. If you let go of this opportunity, will
Aiden hold it against you as he grows up? Will he blame you for not taking the risk and leaving him too soon? It’s
worth risking a few months for the possibility of decades together!”
Amelia’s body trembled, and she looked at her innocent son.
“Will he? Will Aiden blame me in the future?” she wondered.
Though the little boy didn’t fully grasp the conversation of the adults, he understood one thing clearly. “Mommy,”
he said, “I don’t want you to leave me. I want us to grow up together. I’ll grow up soon, and when I do, I’ll be able to

protect you!”
Amelia burst into tears.
The little boy quickly climbed into the bed. His small, tender hands wiped away his mommy’s warm tears.
Just then, Warren unexpectedly opened the door to the ward and entered. “I… I’d like to speak with Amelia
privately, if that’s all right.”
Everyone in the ward was taken aback. Aiden wore a cautious and tense
expression as if he were facing an enemy. Despite Warren having brought Amelia to the hospital, the boy was still
fearful that Warren might harm her in some way. With tears in her eyes, Amelia looked at Warren who stood just a
short distance away.
She had never anticipated that the complexities of her relationship with this man would run much deeper than she
had ever imagined.
After a moment of contemplation, she finally spoke. “Mom, Rosalie, could you please take Aiden outside? I’d like to
speak with him alone.”
“I’m not going out. I want to protect Mommy.” Aiden’s eyes widened in determination.
Amelia tenderly stroked her son’s head and said, “You keep watch outside the ward. If Mommy ever feels unsafe, I’ll
call for you, and then you can come back in to protect me, all right?”
Though Aiden was a bright and perceptive child, he was still only four years old. Upon hearing his mother’s words,
he thought that was acceptable and nodded in agreement.
They exited the ward, leaving only Amelia and Warren alone in the vast hospital
room.
Warren stood there, overwhelmed by a sense of awkwardness. Under her gaze, he felt an intense nervousness, as
if he were awaiting a life-altering verdict. It had been a long time since he felt this nervous.
