This wasn't the first tthey hooked up since the divorce, but last tSophia was plastered and could use the booze as an

excuse.

This time, she and Brandon did the deed stone-cold sober. It kinda felt like their first tall over again.

Ssultry night, spiercing gazes locking together, leading to an unexpected frenzy that spiraled out of control before they

knew it.

Sophia and Brandon had this deadly magnetic pull towards each other's bodies. Sophia wasn't sure if it was just the hormones

talking.

Hurricane weather, two single souls, a hotel room - any one of these could spell disaster. Neither of them could keep their hands to

themselves.

The more they lost control in the night, the more awkward it was now, especially with her still wrapped up in Brandon's arms,

under the covers.

Sophia sneakily glanced at the bathrobes tossed on the couch, a messy heap of his and hers, with their underwear mixed in -

obviously chucked there in the heat of the moment.

Inappropriate flashbacks filled in the blanks of her memory. Sophia silently raised her hand to shield her face, grabbing the blanket

and turning her back, not ready to face it.

Brandon cleared his throat and turned away too before sitting up.

"I had the hotel send up sbreakfast. Why don't we freshen up first?" he said, his voice deep and steady, like nothing was out

of the ordinary.

If it weren't for being married to the guy for two years and getting the lowdown on him, Sophia would have a tough time

connecting this cool, composed dude with the guy who was all hot and heavy last night.

"Okay," Sophia murmured a reply, still not turning around. The whole exes jumping back into bed thing was more cringey than

anything else.

Brandon didn't say more.

The sound of rustling clothes cfrom behind her. Sophia resisted the urge to look back until she heard the bathroom door open

and close; then she let out a quiet sigh and glanced towards the bathroom.

Brandon was brushing his teeth, his tall, lean figure casting a steady, calm shadow on the frosted glass, a stark contrast to last

night's passion.

Sophia averted her eyes and got up, the blanket still draped over her, intending to slip into her clothes.

But the robes and everything underneath were there, and she had no clue where her other clothes ended up in the frenzy.

She slipped on the robe and bent down carefully to search for her clothes but straightened up quickly when the bathroom door

opened again, clutching the robe closed and hastily tying the sash.

Just as she knotted the robe's sash, Brandon cout of the bathroom. Sophia instinctively moved her left arm to her right

shoulder, pretending to fix her hair to cover up her unease.

Her thick, wavy hair cascaded over her shoulder, revealing a fair, slender neck. Brandon's gaze caught the dark, red marks on her

neck, his eyes darkening briefly.

Sophia's mind was on her disheveled clothes and she flashed an awkward smile, "You done in there?"

"Yeah," Brandon responded, his eyes moving from the marks on her neck. There were more on her chest.

The low-cut design of the robe gaped open as she lifted her arm, exposing plenty of skin. The purple bruises were scattered all

over, remnants of last night's untamed entanglement.

Sophia finally noticed Brandon's intense look, followed his gaze down, and saw her exposed neckline and fair skin.

Boom - a wave of heat rushed to her cheeks, scalding hot, making her whole body tense up with embarrassment. She awkwardly

brought her hand to her neckline with a light cough.

"Uh, I'm gonna go freshen up," she said with discomfort, turning towards the balcony intending to grab her clothes from the dryer.

She didn't notice the robe's sash had loosened with her recent movements, yet Brandon did.

"Wait up," he called out.

"Hmm?" Sophia looked back, puzzled.

Without a word, Brandon walked over and stood in front of her. With a confused look in her eyes, he brushed aside the hair on her

shoulders, lifted the robe back into place, and pulled the fabric of the lapels across her chest, instantly closing the gaping neckline.

Only then did he look down at the sash dangling at her waist.

Sophia naturally followed his gaze and saw the loose knot, her embarrassment flooding back. She felt helpless, just watching those

capable hands re-tie the sash into a neat and secure bow.

Sophia couldn't help but glance at Brandon, who was smoothing out the bow's wrinkles, his expression serious and gentle.

Sophia felt a rush of mixed emotions.
