Grace lived close by and hopped in a cab to get there in no time.

Maybe because she'd just been read the riot act by Brandon, Theresa was a bit scared when she saw Grace. She timidly called out,

"Auntie Grace," and slowly sidled up to Grace, taking her hand as a peace offering.

"Sorry," she murmured, her apology barely above a whisper.

Grace's heart, which had been in her throat, finally settled back down.

"Do you have any idea how worried sick you made me?" Grace blurted out, but couldn't keep her emotions in check any longer,

bursting into tears and hugging Theresa tight, sobbing, "You scared the living daylights out of me."

Theresa was a bit freaked out by Grace's reaction, quietly nestled in her embrace without a word.

"Sorry," she murmured again.

Grace hugged her a little tighter. "You can't ever do that again, got it?"

"Yes," Theresa whispered back, not daring to make another peep.

Both Brandon's sternness and Grace's breakdown left her bewildered, her little mind and understanding not quite sure how to deal

with all that was happening.

When the police saw the two knew each other, they stepped up to ask, "You're related to the child, right?"

Grace nodded quickly, "Yes, I'm her nanny. We live in River-View Community."

The officer looked at Theresa, "Sweetheart, is this your family?"

Theresa nodded, not fully grasping the situation, "Yes."

As though worried the cop wouldn't buy it, she clung tighter to Grace's neck.

After jotting down Grace's name, phone number, and address, and making sure everything checked out, the cop lectured, "She's

just a kid; you adults gotta keep an eye out. What if something happened?"

"Definitely, definitely," Grace promised hastily, "It's my fault, really. | never thought she'd go out on her own. | had just put her to

bed and then, you know..."

The officer then turned to Theresa, "Little one, you can't just go out by yourself, okay? There are lots of bad people out there."

Theresa nodded earnestly.

After getting Brandon's details and making sure he knew them, the cop left sfinal warnings before leaving Theresa in their

care.

Grace watched the police leave and then turned to thank Brandon profusely.

Brandon gave her a look, "Grace, you really dropped the ball today. If Theresa hadn't been lucky enough to bump into someone

nice who called the cops, do you realize how bad it could've been?"

His voice wasn't loud, but the authority in his tone made both Grace and Theresa shrink a bit.

Especially Theresa. She'd always known HandsUnkie to be kind and easy-going. She'd never seen this kind of stern,

intimidating side of him, and it scared her so much she scooted closer to Grace, hugging her neck tight and looking at Brandon

with fear in her eyes.

Brandon saw the fear in Theresa's eyes and reached out his hand, "Theresa, chere."

Theresa hesitated, shaking her head, "I'm, scared."

Sophia had just pulled open the fire door and was about to rush out when she glanced down, freezing in her tracks upon seeing

Brandon's hand reaching for Theresa.

Sensing something, Brandon turned around with a frown.

Almost at the stime, Sophia retreated behind the fire door, her heart pounding with sudden alarm, the chaos from a second

ago resettling as she laid eyes on Theresa, only to be sent into a frenzy as Brandon suddenly turned his head.

Kent noticed Brandon's sudden turn and asked, confused, "Mr. Crawley, what's up?"

Brandon shook his head slightly, his brow still furrowed, a look of confusion on his face that even he couldn't explain.

"Mr. Crawley?" Kent called out again, seeing Brandon's worried expression.

Brandon glanced at him, then couldn't help but look towards the direction of the elevators.

Ivan had just stepped out of the elevator, along by other employees taking the elevator.

He also caught Brandon's glance, as well as Theresa in Grace's arms, pausing momentarily but maintaining a calm exterior.

Brandon's gaze lingered on his face for a moment before moving on, looking towards the nearby stairwell and slowly raising his

eyes to the surveillance camera above.
