Yvonne didn't dare to make a peep.
"Go check on him, will you?" Daniel instructed, "Hopefully, nothing serious is going on."
"Okay."
Yvonne didn't dare talk back, just muttered an acknowledgment, said goodbye, and left the ward ahead of him.
On her way, Yvonne shot a text to Brandon, "Brandon, you good?"
No reply. She tried calling him next. The line went through, but nobody picked up.
Yvonne started to feel a bit anxious. Even though her dad had firmly dismissed her suspicions, she couldn't shake the feeling that
her brother was down in the dumps because of Sophia's situation.
She'd heard from her mom Patricia about the chat Sophia had with her dad at the hospital. They were having a good talk until her
brother, with his handsface all ashen, cin and took Sophia away.
She hadn't witnessed it firsthand, but with her extensive experience binge-watching s and devouring , she figured her
brother must be heartbroken to the core.

Otherwise, why would she be able to just drop him like a hot potato? Even a smidge of affection wouldn't have allowed her to let go
that easily."
Patricia's words about Sophia's lack of feelings for her brother still echoed in Yvonne's ears as she had summarized the situation.
Getting dumped so thoroughly, the one who truly loved was bound to get hurt.
In Yvonne's eyes, her brother Brandon was the one head over heels in this marriage. Otherwise, given the huge gap between their
statuses, why on earth would he have married Sophia?
Once this theory clicked together in her head, Yvonne's worry grew. With no answer from Brandon's phone, she reluctantly called
Sophia.
Sophia was zoning out in the stunext door, staring blankly into the vast night sky outside the window.
It took a while for her to shift her attention to the ringing phone on the desk. She hesitated when she saw it was Yvonne calling;
she wasn't too keen on talking to anyone related to the Crawley family.
But the phone rang again after the first round, obviously a sign of an urgent matter. Sophia let out a sigh and picked up the phone.
"Hello?" She said softly.
"Sophia." Yvonne's worried voice cthrough as soon as the call connected, "Are you with my brother right now?"
Sophia replied, "He's in the next room. What's up?"
Yvonne hesitated, "Is he okay? My dad called him earlier, and he seemed off."
Sophia glanced towards the door. She didn't know for sure, but he seemed fine when they were at hearlier.
"Sophia." Yvonne's voice held a hint of pleading, "Could you check on him for me? I've been his sister for over twenty years and
I've never seen him this down before."
"Okay," Sophia said quietly, standing up.
Yvonne heard the sound of her getting up and felt a bit relieved, but since they were on the line, she couldn't help but ask
anxiously, "Sophia, how are things between you and my brother now?"
Sophia didn't know how to answer and remained silent.
Yvonne could guess what Sophia's silence meant. Thinking about her mom's words that Sophia felt nothing for Brandon, she felt a
sting of sadness.

always been like this invincible god. It's as if he's never tired, never sad. We've all gotten used to dumping our problems on him,
but we never stop to think if he gets tired, if he ever feels down, if he needs someone to comfort him, to be there for him. In our
subconscious, his feelings never seem to matter; no one's ever really cared about what he feels."
