"Guess we'll play it by ear for now. We'll head over once Tomas gives us the green light," said Sophia.
Augus seemed a bit taken aback by how cool Sophia was taking things, and he couldn't help but frown, "So, we're putting the pier
construction on hold, huh?"
"Who said anything about not pouring the concrete?" Sophia couldn't help but look up at him, "Right now, it's just that Tomas' side
is talking about swapping out the construction crew last minute. Switching teams takes time, so it's only natural that the project
gets pushed back a bit."
Augus still looked worried, "The psychic had already picked out the perfect date for the pour, right? If we miss that window and
can’t make it pouring in the end, won't our project be put on ice? Wouldn't that mean all our hard work goes down the drain?"
"Every project has its own destiny, and it's not something we can control," Sophia said, "Just go with the flow."
Augus looked at her incredulously, "That's like your baby, and you've put so much into it, how can you be so chill? | thought every
designer would be head over heels for their work."
Sophia frowned slightly and looke at him, "And what do you think | should do?"
"Obviously, find a way to push the project forward," Augus still looked at her like she was from another planet, "Everything's all set,
and we just need to wait for the right moment to start building. But now the company wants to switch teams at this critical
juncture, is that really necessary?"
Sophia glanced at him.

Perhaps having realized that he was getting worked up, Augus calmed down a bit.
"Sorry, | just can't help but get antsy thinking that the project might stall. | landed this huge opportunity right out of college, and |
really hope our project can sail smoothly."
"It's okay, | get it," Sophia said, with her expression as usual, not holding her eagerness against him.
Augus breathed a sigh of relief and tentatively asked, "About the construction crew, do you think we could beg Mr. Crawley to give
this crew a shot? If it doesn't work out, we could switch then."
He didn't get to finish his sentence when the lively buzz of the outer office suddenly hushed down.
Augus instinctively turned around and saw Brandon, who had just walked in through the glass door, and he stopped mid-sentence.
Sophia also instinctively followed his gaze outside and locked eyes with Brandon unintentionally.
Brandon gave her a brief glance, then turned towards Augus.
Perhaps it was the sharp and cool look in Brandon's eyes that made Augus a bit scared of him.
Seeing Brandon head towards Sophia's office, he didn't dare stay any longer, and whispered a goodbye to Sophia, "Director, I'll
head out then."
Sophia nodded, "Mhm."
"And about the construction crew." Augus said, still a bit concerned.
Before Sophia could answer, Brandon was already at the door.
His gaze fell directly on Sophia's face, "Heading out?"
Sophia nodded slightly, "Yeah."
Augus, seeing the two were still on chilly terms and feeling intimidated by Brandon's presence, didn't dare to linger and quietly
greeted Brandon before making his exit.
Sophia couldn't help but watch Augus' retreating figure, and her thoughts were stirring.
Augus usually called her "Senior," but just now he kept calling her "Director," perhaps because he was anxious.
Moreover, from the tthey were in Zion City until now, Augus seemed to have been strongly opposed to changing the
construction crew.
He seemed to be subtly defending the whole team.
Back then, he kept stressing how tough the workers were, and she thought he was just being empathetic, putting himself in their
shoes and sympathizing with them.
But today, Sophia couldn't help but furrow her brow.
Noticing how her gaze was lingering on Augus and how she was watching him intently, Brandon cleared his throat lightly.

Sophia snapped back to reality, and got suddenly aware of Brandon's presence, so she felt a bit awkward.
They hadn't had much chance to interact in the past couple of days since that night.
"Leaving now?" Brandon asked.
Sophia nodded, "Yeah."
She hurriedly got up to pack her things.
Stepping out of the office, Sophia couldn't help but take another glance at Augus.
He was sitting at his desk, resting his chin on crossed hands and daydreaming, with a troubled look on his face that stood out
starkly against the cheerful backdrop of others leaving for the day.
Sophia was puzzled once again.
Catching her reaction without missing a beat, Brandon glanced at Augus, then back at her.
"Is he that eye-catching?" he asked with a faint voice.
Coming back to her senses, Sophia gave him a look, without responding, and walked out.
Brandon followed suit.
