Chapter 60: Di Tou, the Wine Immortal
After Fu Hao Xin had left, Di Tou was in his room scratching his head and organizing the information he had gotten from Fu Hao Xin. The most important information he had gotten was a general idea of how strong people at the Academy were and where he was in comparison.
A younger student like Fu Hao Xin was at the Foundation stage, and he could be considered about average. Which meant that the introductory teachers should be at least around the Golden Core stage, while the older students should probably be nearing this realm as well.
This meant that the older teachers were probably around the Nascent Soul realm, and assuming the Academy wasn't showing all it's cards, he should probably assume that there was at least one person in the Resonance stage…
To be honest, Di Tou's guess was rather accurate with what the Academy displayed on the surface. Throughout the entirety of the cultivation world, the majority of the powers only displayed powers in the first two sets. Anyone above the Resonance stage had typically faded away from the limelight, focusing entirely on their cultivation.
This meant that for the majority of weaker cultivators and unassociated cultivators, it was fair to say that a Nascent Soul stage cultivator was a powerhouse, and a Resonance stage cultivator was the peak of the cultivation world.
As for people of the Void Returning realm and above, they could be considered myths and legends. Of course, almost all of the major powers had at least one cultivator in the Void Returning realm, as well as trump cards that could rival the Spiritual Palace realm. These things just simply weren't displayed on the surface, but among the various powers it could be considered an open secret.
As for the Academy. Haha… do we even need to try pretending like Resonance is the peak? Just a few chapters ago we saw Auntie Jue who had reached the Void Returning realm at the very least.
But of course, Di Tou didn't know any of this, which was probably a good thing, as he probably wouldn't be able to sleep soundly knowing just what sort of demon's nest he was in.
Di Tou continued to think. "I'm currently in the Body Tempering realm, to be able to ensure my safety, I'll probably need to reach the peak of the Resonance realm…"
Di Tou could feel his head hurting, just how long would that take? As things were he didn't even know how far he was from reaching the Qi Condensing realm.
…
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWait, it seemed like, maybe he did have a way to see how close he was?
O_O
Quickly kneeling down, Di Tou summoned the scroll and went to the forgotten [Guidance Page]
<-( )========================( )->
1. Raise the efficiency of sweeping leaves to
50% or higher. (18/50)
2. Reach the standard of the peak of
Body Refinement Stage (87%)
3. A Clear Heart (80%)
<-( )========================( )->
Di Tou stared, eyes popping. 87… It seemed like he wasn't that far away? Rather close in fact... It had only been two days right?
Thinking, he remembered that Fu Hao Xin said he managed to reach the peak of Body Tempering in four years and that was considered relatively slow… Even if we assumed that an average pace was three years, if he was to reach the peak of Body Tempering in three days, wouldn't that mean he was 365 times faster than the average, or slightly above average cultivator?
Suddenly Di Tou felt like everything was going to be okay.
Thinking about it, he went to go check out his [Reflection] page.
<-( )========================( )->
Strength – 7.8 (3.25) (2)
Dexterity – 10 (6) (2)
Intelligence – 7.155 (3.125) (2)
Spirituality – 10 (4.615) (2)
<-( )========================( )->
"Second usage of spiritual treasure, [Void Wine] 50% efficiency, +3 attributed to [all aspects]."
"41% efficiency in activity [tidying bed], sub-average feedback obtained."
"78% efficiency in activity [spiritual guidance] (minor enlightenment) on [Fu Hao Xin], above-average feedback obtained."
"Cap in [Dexterity] reached, 50% of excess attributes will be randomly attributed to [Spirituality]."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"24% efficiency in activity [rubbing down table], low level feedback obtained."
"Cap in [Spirituality] reached, excess attributes nulled."
"…"
Suddenly Di Tou lost a lot of the confidence he had gained.
It seemed like, he was simply a drunk immortal? This time the wine had added three points, and the previous time it had added one point, so overall it had added over four points to all his aspects, which made up over half of his strength.
If that was all, he could still suck it up and accept the fact that he was someone who relied on supplements to get stronger, but it seemed the efficiency was getting lower… so that meant he couldn't continue relying on the wine to get stronger.
Pausing for a moment, Di Tou felt rather confused, "Wait, if the efficiency is getting lower, why did I get more points this time?"
Heading back to the beside counter, he realized that in his bravado the night before, he had downed over half the teacup of wine. Compared to the first night where he had only taken a baby sip, it was a significantly larger serving.
Of course, this wasn't without consequences, after all he had slept all the way to 10 or 11 in the morning, and hadn't woken up when Fu Hao Xin had arrived. Of course, this could be considered a rather mild consequence, but as mentioned before Void Wine could be considered a rather gentle supplement.
But, realizing the reason why he had gained more this time, Di Tou couldn't help but feel a sense of loss.
If he had… If he had drank the entire cup the first night, didn't that mean he would already be at the peak of Body Tempering by now? After all if half a cup at half efficiency gave 6 points, than a full cup at full efficiency should give 24 points.
Then, making a brief calculation by adding up all his attributes and dividing by 87% the total amount of attribute points he should need to be at the peak of Body Tempering should be around 40 points, assuming each category was equal and looking at the two capped attributes, it should be 10 points per attribute.
So if he had downed the full cup, he would be at the peak of Body Tempering with two points to spare in each aspect…
F*ck.
