KYLE'S POV.

Sibling rivalry.

It often starts when a second child joins the family and continues as the kids grow and compete for everything from toys to attention. It's mainly caused by concerns with fairness, individual temperaments of the siblings involved, parents conflict resolution skills. Children can show sibling rivalry by calling each other names, telling on each other whether truthfully or not, verbal sparring, hitting each other, breaking and hiding each other's possessions.

It can develop into full blown enmity if not properly dealt with from a young age.

Alina and I had our own share of sibling rivalry when we were little and I can't say it has completely dissipated. We still fight a lot, but it's not out of spite or jealousy. It's out of concern for one another. Our parents didn't let our sibling rivalry escalate to the point of enmity like in the case of Rhea and Ashanti.

It's such a shtwo beautiful sisters grew up to be enemies. The parents who raised them are to be blamed for this.

This is not the first tRhea is trying to get Ashanti into trouble. There have been many attempts, but this tops it all. I have a gut feeling my sister Alina was involved in this plan, but let's not go there. I'll just stay content with the fact Ashanti's nhas been cleared.

I swallow the food in my mouth and wash it down with a chug of apple juice. My cutlery drops on the place and I let out a satisfied sigh.

I'm full.

I was starving by the tthe investigation was over and drove straight to my father's house so I could eat my mother's food. Luckily for me, she had just finished cooking when I arrived.

Pushing my seat behind, I rise up and I'm about to leave the dinning when I see my mother approaching with Alina right behind her.

"You're done eating?" Mum asks with a bright smile. I nod my head.

"Yes mum. Thank you very much for the meal. It was delicious as always." I walk over to her and plant a soft kiss on her cheek. "I have to go now." Her smile fades.

"But you just arrived. Why are you leaving already? Don't you want to spend twith your mother? Don't you miss me?" She nags.

"Mum..." I cry, scratching the back of my neck. Her nagging always frustrates me. I wonder how my father copes with her.

This is why I don't like coming over when she's around. She never wantsto leave and she never fails to try and emotionally blackmailto stay. "Stay just for a few more hours." She pouts.

"Mum, I'm sorry I can't. I have work to get back to." "Is it about the issue with the contestant who was set up by her sister? I thought it had been resolved already." "It has." "Then why do you look like something is bothering you? You don't seem fine to me." "That's because the girl involved in the scandal is his crush." Alina says out of nowhere. I shoot her a sharp glare, hissing.

"A crush? A girl?" Mum asks, surprised.

"No mum. Don't mind what Alina just said. It means nothing." "No, it doesn't!" Alina protests and I slap her face with another stern look. "What?" She barks.

"Who's she? Why don't you bring her home?" "He would, if only he had the balls to actually try to win her over." "Kyle, what is she talking about? I don't know you to be the type of man who is afraid to go after what he wants. Let alone a woman!" Mum firmly deciphers. I pinch the bridge of my nose, close my eyes and let out an exasperated sigh.

These women do nothing but frustrateanytI'm around them, yet they wonder why I try to avoid them as much as I can.

"Kyle you..." "Mum. Mum. Mother." I quickly caught her off, placing my hand on her shoulders and slicing her eyes with mine. "There's no crush. There's no girl." "Yes, there is!" Alina firmly contradicts and I've had enough. I let go of our mother's shoulders.

"Good bye, both of you." I start walking towards the door.

"Stay the night." That's mum.

"I can't." I shout out, still moving forward.

"If you like her, just tell her. You're the Delta. No girl can turn you down!" Mum adds behindand I hasten my footsteps.

When I get out of the house, I head straight to my car and drive away. Now I'm leaving the house with a full stomach and an upset mind, all thanks to Alina. She never fails to disrupt my mood.

I drive all the way to the Premium Residence where Ashanti resides. I was there when Alpha Reagan ordered Delta Ronald to bring her to his chambers and I know she's there with him but here I am, driving towards the building, hoping I could get a glimpse of her. I know he must have told her by now that everything is fine and she has stopped worrying, but I wish I could tell her again. Assure her that as long as I'm alive, she will never serve punishment for a crshe did not commit. I even park and wind down the window and start staring at the building.

Sometimes I try to imagine how things would have been between us if Alpha Reagan had not taken interest in her. The Moon goddess knows would have confessed my feelings to Ashanti err long, won her over and we'd be making marriage preparations by now because my ring would already be on her finger. My heart missed a beat the first day I set my eyes on her in that fighting arena and her calm and serene personality made fall even harder. I'm sure Alpha Reagan will heed to my advice and treat her better from now on. He will claim her as his mate. He will marry her and they will lead a happy life ruling as Alpha and Luna. That's what I wish for and that's why I have to find a way to get rid of these feelings I have for her.

I have to start by driving past this building.

I peel my eyes from the entrance of O the building and look straight ahead of me. I ignite the car engine and I'm about to kick off when the strangest, sweetest, most captivating smell hits my nostrils, almost knockingout of my senses. I turn off the car engine and look back out of the window. I spot two girls approaching the premium residence. One is a Blondie and because I can hear from a far range, I know she's rejoicing about the fact that Ashanti was proven innocent of the crime. My heart jumps into my throat when my eyes flicker to the brunette haired girl that's walking by her side and patiently listening to her blabber about the whole situation. The strong wind is blowing her hair all over the place and she's trying hard to keep it away from her face by constantly tucking loose strands behind her ear.

She's gorgeous and the sight of her is sending electric current down my spine. I almost faint when my wolf, Ander, sprints up in my mind and starts sniffing around. He has never done that before.

"Ander." I call in my mind as I look away from the girls. "What are you doing?" "I can smell our mate. She's close." Goosebumps scatter down my spine. My mate! X
