REAGAN'S POV "Now that you all know the truth about Alina and most importantly, the fact that my mate, Ashanti, is not an evil witch, I hope you all can take it easy on her. From now on, I will not tolerate any negative news being spread about my mate. Anyone caught doing so will be punished severely. She might not be the ideal mate you all want for me, but she is my mate, nevertheless. The Moon goddess chose her for me... for us and except you want to question or challenge the Moon goddess' decision, you had better start treating Ashanti with the respect she deserves. I stop. Draw in a deep breath. "I have accepted her as my mate and Luna of this pack and so should you. Anyone who's againsts my decision should go rogue or better still, die, because like I said before, I will not go easy on anyone who's caught spreading false rumours about my mate. So be careful!" My eyes go over to the elders who all shrink in their seats like the cowards they are.

The next meeting I hold will be to dismiss them as my elders and dissolve the so-called council of elders. That's going to cause an uproar from the subjects and everyone else, but I don't care. For now, I have to get my mate out of that dungeon before I lose it.

Everyone rises to their feet and bows toas I make my way out of the banquet hall with Kyle followingclosely behind. Kyle seems to have read my mind because the moment we get into the car and hit the road, he steps on the gas and it's a matter of minutes before we arrive at the dungeon. I'm almost trembling with excitement as I allow myself to be led into the dungeon by Kyle.

It's finally over.

I've proven to the general public that Alina is not the Saint she claimed to be. Ashanti's nhas been cleared and from now on, my subjects will treat her with the respect she deserves. The happy ending I had always wished for us is finally here. I'm finally going to be with my mate without anyone coming between us.

I'm elated. I feel like singing right now. The warden's are givingweird looks as I walk past them because of the goofy smile on my face, but I don't care. They can't understand the joy I feel right now. Once the elevator door dings and the door opens to the floor where Ashanti's cell is located, I take the lead out and head straight to the cell. My heart rate reaches a new higher level as I draw closer to the cell.

I cannot wait to get there and see Ashanti... to break the news to her. To hugs her, kiss her, take her back hand live happily ever after with her. I cannot wait to...

My thoughts fly away when I arrive at her cell and meet it empty. I pause in my tracks. I looked left and right. Front and back, wondering if I've missed the cell, but I know I haven't.

I've been here three times and I know she was locked up in here.

"Is everything alright?" Kyle asks when he notices the confused look on my face.

"The cell. It's empty." "What?" He strides over and pauses as well when he sees the sempty cell. The two of us turn to the three wardens accompanying us.

"Where is she?" I ask, trying hard to keep my voice calm despite the anxiety bubbling in my chest right now. I close my eyes and try to sniff out her pheromone, to know if she's close or not, but I perceive nothing. It's like she's not in this dungeon at all.

"She... She..." The warden who just stopped in front of us stutters in confusion. "The last tI checked she was seated right here and that was just about thirty minutes ago." "What do you mean she was here thirty minutes ago?" I scream in fury. The poor guy takes a frightened step back as he looks up to his colleagues for help. The guys look just as confused as he is. "I swear to the Goddess, Alpha. She was right here." "Look." Kyle says, pointing to the door. "It's locked. The door is still intact do we can't say she broke out and ran away. Someone must have gotten her out of here." "We've been patrolling this hallway since the break of dawn and I can swear to you that no one has cin here to see her." The warden reports and I can feel my nerve endings catching fire within me. I thread my fingers through my hair, ruffling it as I start pacing about.

This is not good.

I have a bad feeling about this.

"Find her!" My voice is calm and dangerous. Laced with dark undertones that make the men shiver as they take several steps away from me. They should because right now I feel like throwing someone against a wall. "FIND HER!" The walls tremble and the wardens scamper away on their heels. I turn to Kyle who looks just as confused as I am. "You have to find her, Kyle. Please." I grab the collar of his shirt. "You have to getAshanti!"

"I will do that!" He holds my hands and locks his gaze with mine givingthat reassuring look that always does the trick of setting my mind at ease, but this taround, it doesn't. It doesn't because I don't feel too good about this situation.

The door lock is intact. There's no sign of forced entry or exit. The m wardens jwould never release her on someone else's orders. I feel like she's gone.

Someone has taken her away.
