Chapter 94 Katrina's POV I didn't think, I just acted. My heart dropped to my stomach and at spoint, I felt crazy for doing what I had done.
"Silas!" I screamed once more, and he immediately turned around.
The world spun as I jumped over the banister with my heart racing. My only goal was to get to Silas. I didn't care how reckless it was or how stupid it might seem-I needed him at this moment. Right now it was a moment of life or death. Literally.
My stomach flipped as I soared through the air and for a moment, I wondered if I'd completely lost my mind. But then, strong arms caughtand the impact knocked the breath out of me. Silas.
My lips pulled into a relieved smile and I wrapped my arms around his neck. For a moment, I thought he wasn't going to catchand I was going to be kissing the floor.
"Katrina," Silas growled loudly, and I pulled away from him with my heart racing.
His face was a mixture of shock and anger as he steadiedin his arms. "Are you out of your damn mind, Katrina? What the hell were you thinking?" he snapped, his tone dropping down a notch.
I glared up at him, still breathless but furious. "Did you not hear the gunshot, Silas? What else was I supposed to do, wave politely?" I couldn't help the sarcasm dripping from my words, my face scrunched up in annoyance.
I was being chased down by Chris and I had no choice but to jump down. Running down the staircase would have been a waste of time.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHis jaw tightened as his eyes darted up toward the banister and I watched as they darkened slightly. My stomach sank as I followed his gaze. Chris stood there, his face twisted in fury, the gun glinting in his hand. "What is that filthy mutt doing on my property?" Silas growled low in his throat, the sound sending chills down my spine.
That was a question I wanted to ask myself, how did Chris get here. Silas clutchedtighter in his arms, steadyingto preventfrom falling.
"Men!" he barked, his voice echoing through the hall. His men, who had conveniently been absent earlier, rushed toward him.
Funny how they weren't here when I was about to be killed by him earlier: He pointed up at Chris without another word. The fury on his face was unlike anything I'd ever seen before. I didn't know if I was meant to be scared but I was happy the anger wasnt directed at me. "Bring him to me. Alive," he commanded, his voice ice cold.
Chris's confidence faltered for a split second, but then he smirked, clearly believing he could outsmart them.
I wasn't certain where he wanted to go, or how he planned on escaping from them. But I wanted to see him do it. With no hesitation, he ran down the hallway, running out of sight.
"How did you think jumping down from the staircase was the best thing to do?" Silas growled in my ears, grabbing my cheeks and turning my face to him.
My heart skipped a beat and I pouted subconsciously. "It was the first thing that cto mind at that point," 1/4 08:00 Fri, Nov 29 W.
Chapter 94 When you're being chased down by a psycho man with a gun, you don't exactly get the tto think about what to do.
88%1 Silas' men were relentless. I didn't see the chase, but the echo of Chris's footsteps, the shouts, and the eventual crash toldeverything I needed to know. They caught him, and I was happy about that.
Chris was dragged into the room, his once-arrogant smirk replaced with a grimace of pain.
Would you look at that? This seemed to be the first tI had seen such a look on Chris' face and it madefeel tingles.
Slowly, Silas letslide down to the floor, balancingon my feet. He closed the distance between us and Chris, staring down at him.
"Kneel!" He ordered, his voice devoid of any emotions. Chris' face hardened for a while and he spat at the floor. His face was filled with bruises and cuts and I could tell that the trip down here wasnt filled with flowers "Why would I kneel to yo-" Silas didn't even wait for him to finish speaking, he nodded his head at his men and they forced Chris to his knees. Silas walked up to him slowly, his hands behind his back.
"Silas," Chris said, his voice shaky but defiant. "Do you really think killingwon't have consequences? My father-" I couldn't help the laughter that racked my chest. Was Chris really trying to threaten Silas with his father? It felt pathetic really, Silas' men turned their attention toand I controlled my laughter, covering my lips with the back of my palm. Silas crouched down, his dark eyes boring into Chris. "Your father?" he sneered. "Do you think I care about your father? Do think I care about the consequences?" you Chris's lips parted as if to argue, but Silas didn't give him the chance. He turned to one of his men and nodded. "Make him regret ever stepping foot into this place," He ordered turning around. Silas' men didn't even waste time, they did exactly as he said.
"Don't look," Silas said to me, crossing the distance between us and pullinginto his chest.
My face was pressed against his stomach and I took a deep breath of his scent.
The first scream cand I flinched, the sound of breaking bones filling the air.
I wanted to look, but Silas pushed my head back into his chest, preventingfrom taking my head out.
"I said not to look," he scolded, placing his jaw on my head. And so I didn't.

After what seemed to be forever, the screams finally died out and for a moment I thought they killed him.
-But when Silas turned around, givingthe chance to take in the view, I gasped lightly.
Chris' limbs were sprawled out beneath him, turned in angles I couldn't believe was humanly possible. But did I feel sorry for him? Not at all.
2/4 Fri, Nov 29 Chapter 94 "Silas," Chris choked out between groans. "You can't... you can't afford to make an enemy out of him. My father will-" 88% Silas grabbed Chris by the jaw, forcing him to meet his eyes. "Your father will do nothing. And even if he does, I'll deal with him the sway I'm dealing with you." A threat I knew that Silas would carry out.
Chris's eyes widened, panic finally settling in, but it was too late. Silas didn't hesitate. With a single, brutal motion, Silas drew his gun and pressed it to Chris's temple. Hold on, was he actually about to- "Silas, wait!" I blurted out, my voice trembling. I wasn't sure why I'd spoken-I wasn't trying to save Chris. I had no reason to.
But I still didn't know why I stopped him, maybe it was the shock of how quickly things had escalated.
Silas turned his head slightly toward me, his expression blank. "Why should I?" he asked coldly, his eye boring holes into 1. me.
Why? I opened my mouth but realized I didn't have an answer. Chris had cinto my room with a gun, threatened me, ready to takeby force. He didn't deserve mercy. Still, witnessing this side of Silas made my chest tighten. I had never seen this and it low-key scared me.
and was Chris took advantage of the moment, his voice desperate. "You needalive, Silas! If you kill me, you'll start a war you can't win! My father-" Silas cut him off with a low laugh, sending chills down my spine.
"Your father?" he repeated mockingly. "If he's foolish enough to cfor me, I'll wipe out his entire bloodline." The room went silent, the weight of his words suffocating. Chris's bravado cracked, his fear now fully visible. There was no point hiding it if his fate was obvious.
"Silas, please," Chris begged, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Please?" Silas echoed, standing to his full height and towering over Chris.
"Did you say 'please' when you pointed a gun at my wife? When you tried to take what's mine?" Chris opened his mouth, but no words cout. He couldn't defend himself and that was what brought his end.
