The Male Lead Suddenly Became My Lapdog after I Annulled Our Engagement
Chapter 164 - 164 Napping164 Napping
At noon, He Miao said goodbye to Xu Meng as soon as class ended and went to the Jing family’s company building alone.
Jing Yan was still flipping through some documents in his office when he heard Chen Zhao’s report. He listened for a while with a frown. When he heard the name “He Miao,” he looked up and asked with a burning gaze, “Where is she?”
“In the lobby on the first floor. She was stopped by the front desk. “I’ve already asked someone to bring her up,” Chen Zhao answered honestly. “She should be here soon.”
“Yes, I know.” Only then did Jing Yan calm down. He pulled his tie, unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt, and stared at the empty space in front of his desk.
After a while, the girl he had been thinking about day and night finally appeared.
Jing Yan gestured for Chen Zhao, who had laid out the food, to leave the room. He walked out from behind the table and led He Miao to the table. “Didn’t you say you’d come in the afternoon? Are you in a hurry to see me?” he asked.

She narrowed her eyes half-jokingly. “You seem to be very nervous to see me.”
“I’m already so familiar with you, why would I be nervous?” Jing Yan pinched her cheek, but she patted the back of his hand.
He immediately moved his hand away from her face and wiped her cutleries for her. He smiled and said, “It seems that you came by smell again. Have a seat first, I’ll go get you something.”
“What is it?” He Miao followed his back curiously and saw him take out a bottle of milk from the drawer of the bookcase in the corner. “I knew you would come, so I prepared it for you.”
“Thank you,” she said. He Miao took the milk happily and took a sip, licking the milk stains off her face. He smiled and said, “I haven’t had any in the morning. I was just about to get a bottle myself.”
Jing Yan sat on the chair next to her and handed her a thermal container with rice. “It’s good that you like it. You can come to me whenever you want to drink it. I’ll always have it prepared for you.”
“I can also drink it outside!” He Miao picked up a mouthful of food indifferently.
When she first sat down, she realized that the dishes on the table were her signature dishes. However, her cooking skills could not be compared to the person who cooked these dishes. The gap was huge.
He Miao pouted in shock. “Sometimes, I really wish I could cultivate my cooking skills. Why can someone else cook so well?”
“As chefs, how can their food not taste good? What’s there to compete with them for?” Jing Yan picked up a dish that He Miao had taken from and ate it with relish. The tiny rays of sunlight that seeped in from the floor-to-ceiling window could not cover the sparkle in his eyes.
“But I also want to cook delicious food.” He Miao grumbled as she drank her milk.
“You only need to cook for me,” Jing Yan laughed nonchalantly. “As long as I like it, it’s fine.”
He Miao’s face turned red instantly, and she almost choked on the milk in her mouth. She quickly swallowed the milk and looked at his serious expression. She denied it. “That’s not for sure.”
“It’s not necessarily true.” Jing Yan nodded in agreement. They would have their own children in the future, so of course, he could not be the only one to eat her cooking.
He Miao looked at his snickering face in shock and doubt, deeply suspecting that what he said might not be completely different from what she said.

“Grandpa left this behind.” Jing Yan closed his eyes and smirked. “What? Could it be that you really hope that this is something that I have specially prepared for you?”
“I’m not.” He Miao mumbled to herself and soon fell asleep.
When she woke up, Jing Yan was sitting on the sofa next to her, revising contracts. The coffee table was not too big, and it was neatly filled with folders.
Hearing the movements of the girl beside him, Jing Yan turned his head and glanced at her, then his eyes fell back on the contract. “You’re awake? Are you hungry?”
“Who would sleep after eating and eat again after waking up? Do you think I’m a pig?” He Miao sat up, amused. When she caught a glimpse of the sky outside the window, her body froze.
“You still say you’re not?” Jing Yan looked at the last ray of twilight on the horizon and said in amusement, “You slept from lunch to dinner. Did you come here just to get a free meal?”
“I’m good!” He Miao stood up in shock and looked at Jing Yan nervously. “What about finding evidence?”
He picked up a document beside him and handed it to her. “Take a look at it yourself. This afternoon, I asked the IT department to trace the source and found the news site that first released the news. These people have already admitted that they were bribed by Chong Wei. In order to avoid being exposed, they have already kept the relevant evidence.”
