Inside the valley’s abyss, Jared’s body was slowly falling downward. He could sense the thick and
intense lethal intent around him, and his brain began to get fuzzy.
He vaguely felt something keep brushing past him. It seemed to be the phantoms, but at the same
time, it did not seem like them. If it’s them, why don’t they attack me?
Before he knew it, he lost consciousness. Although his body continued falling downward, it seemed like
he was being supported as his speed of descent became much slower.
Finally, his body landed on a circular platform. The moment he stopped falling, numerous phantoms
swarmed around him. However, after taking one look at him, they did not attack and merely crawled out
of the abyss.
He lay there quietly. Even as scores of phantoms passed by him, not a single one tried to harm him.
After what seemed like forever, Jared slowly opened his eyes. Apart from the pitch-black darkness
surrounding him, he was also greeted by the sight of teeming crowds of phantoms.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe phantoms emitted a faint white glow in the abyss, and they would float upward one after another.
Alarmed to see the sheer number of phantoms, he gripped his Dragonslayer Sword tightly and looked
around warily.
A moment later, however, he realized that those phantoms seemed to not see him. None of them
wanted to attack him! He heaved a sigh of relief. Then, he began to survey his surroundings..
Although he could not see much clearly due to the darkness, he could clearly see the round platform
beneath his feet. He circled it once and found that its diameter spanned a hundred meters. It was
massive. However, there seemed to be more space under the platform, and the whole platform
appeared suspended in midair.
“What is this place?” he muttered. I remember jumping into the abyss under the altar, but I wasn’t
expecting it to be so big! He wanted to use his spiritual sense to investigate the space, but no sooner
had he tried doing that than he realized he had already depleted the spiritual energy in his elixir field.
Exasperated, he had no choice but to sit cross- legged and start restoring his strength. Fortunately,
there was an abundance of lethal intent around him. It was no different to him than spiritual energy, so
he could quickly replenish his energy.
However, he had just activated his Focus Technique when he frowned. “Huh? Why does it seem as
though this place contains Skylar’s aura?” He was surprised, wondering why Skylar’s aura would
appear in such a place.
Jared could not remember how long it had been since he last saw Skylar. In fact, he had no idea
whether the latter was still alive or not. However, the unexpected appearance of Skylar’s aura made
him suddenly think about the latter.
Nonetheless, his surprise only lasted for a while, and he swiftly entered a cultivation state. I don’t
believe that Skylar was here. After all, this is a place that I inadvertently stumbled upon. It’s impossible
that he would’ve been here. While he was quickly recovering through cultivation, Matthew, Yashur, and
the others were on pins and needles inside the secret realm.
They had also regained their strength but were. panicking because Jared was nowhere to be seen,
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThey were worried that things would not turn out well for Jared if he happened to run into Wrey and his
gang. Jared alone would not be able to fight against so many opponents. Hence, such an encounter
would only mean certain death for him!
“Well? Did you find Mr. Chance?” Yashur asked anxiously, his brows tightly furrowed. Matthew shook
his head. “Nope. I covered two hundred miles this time, but I still didn’t come across any sign of him.”
“Neither did I. I sent all my disciples out to search but haven’t received any news,” Great Diviner piped
up with a shake of his head. A sinking feeling crept over Yashur when he heard that, thinking there was
no way Jared would not have returned after so many days if he was indeed fine. He should know we’ll
worry about him. Since he isn’t back yet, he must be in danger!
“Let’s split up to look for him. Whether we find him or not, we’ll meet back here three days later.” With
that, Yashur disappeared from their sight in a flash.
Matthew and Great Diviner also split up and headed in separate directions to continue their search.
