Davey secured a destination through his Familiar and fixed the coordinates, then transported himself there using Warp.
In the blink of an eye, the surrounding landscape shifted and Davey found himself at the entrance of a massive cave. At a closer look, he noticed a girl crawling her way out of the cave.
The girl looked up at him through blurry eyes.
Davey looked down at the girl and asked, "What happened?"
In a strained voice, the girl replied, "I... have nothing to say... to the lackeys of the Righteous Path..."
"Right. I wasn't curious anyway," Davey replied calmly.
He laid the girl down straight and then gently tore the clothes around the area where he presumed her wound to be.
The girl gasped. “What are… you doing…”
"Shut your mouth and grit your teeth. It's going to hurt quite a bit," Davey instructed, his tone firm.
Saying this, he pulled a tube from his Pocket Plane and plunged it directly into her abdomen, then applied pressure on her chest.
Moments later, the girl coughed violently and black blood began spilling from the tube Davey had inserted into the wound of the girl. He slowly withdrew the tube, disinfected the wound, and quickly bandaged it.
"Feeling better now?" Davey inquired.
The girl from the Evil Path remained silent, perhaps out of shame.
"It looks like you're alright. Take a moment to rest before moving. Remember, your life is the most important thing," Davey advised calmly as he stood up and walked past her.
"Wait... please!"
When he turned to look, he saw that the girl had placed a hand on her abdomen. She seemed surprised by the sudden relief from the pain that had tormented her moments before.
“You… Why did you save me?”
“What?” Davey responded.
"You’re from the Righteous Path, right? I am a disciple of the main faction of the Ice-White Clan, which is part of the Evil Path Martial Alliance. You and I are competitors, even enemies," she explained.
"So?" Davey asked indifferently.
She clenched her teeth at his response.
"You could have just left me there; it would have been one less competitor for you, right?" the girl questioned.
Eliminating a competitor, after all, wouldn't have been a bad outcome under normal circumstances.
However, Davey stated calmly, "Human lives shouldn't be recklessly gambled in a competition that's nothing more than children's play."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHe then walked past the girl.
Hearing his words, the girl stared at Davey blankly for a moment.
"What... that's so foolish... With that kind of naive thinking, you'll be dead soon," she remarked.
"Considering I'm still alive so far, doesn't that prove your point wrong?" Davey asked, chuckling.
This seemed so ludicrous to the girl that she couldn't help but scoff.
Then, slowly rising, the girl followed Davey and gave a piece of earnest advice with a grave expression on her face. "Enter through a different entrance; there's a terribly huge monster inside."
When Davey ignored her warning and entered the cave, she panicked and chased after him.
"Why are you doing this?! Are you trying to get yourself killed?! There's a mad gorilla inside right now..." the girl exclaimed, her voice filled with desperation and fear.
Davey simply disregarded her advice.
A loud, resounding thud echoed around them. The girl instantly froze, her face struck with terror at the noise.
"It... it can't be... It climbed all the way up here?" she muttered.
Davey stopped in his tracks and looked at her.
"Before escaping, I shattered the fragile ground to make it fall... but for it to climb back up in such a short time..." the girl said, her voice tinged with disbelief.
"Gorillas are naturally good at climbing trees and even walls," Davey remarked.
"Walls... too?" she questioned.
"What, doesn’t that make sense?" Davey replied.
Following that exchange, Davey found himself face to face with the massive gorilla that had emerged from deep within the cave.
The gorilla, covered in jet-black fur and standing roughly eight meters tall, possessed a surprisingly massive physique. Its muscles were incomparable to those of a human, its eyes were menacing, and its hands seemed capable of tearing a person apart with ease.
"Run! Dan-Poong stabbed its leg, so it can't chase us quickly!" the girl from the Evil Path urged, panic evident in her voice as she hastily grabbed Davey's arm, attempting to pull him away. However, Davey remained immovable, not swayed by her actions.
"What... what are you doing!" she exclaimed in confusion.
"Has someone already died?" Davey inquired.
"Dan-Poong... my escort... no... a prodigy of the Evil Path who came with me!" the girl exclaimed.
Hearing her words, Davey squinted, giving the gorilla a sharp look. He didn’t know whether the presence of such an exceptionally strong beast was due to a specific reason, but what mattered was the spirit of this massive gorilla.
"Stop... Stop it! That’s suicide!" the girl screamed.
Ignoring her screams, which sounded almost like cries, Davey continued walking towards the gorilla. Without a word, Davey locked eyes with the creature and began to mimic its sounds by beating his own chest with his palms.
If anyone else had seen him charging towards the massive gorilla while mimicking it, they would have looked at him like he was insane, wondering what on earth he was attempting. Unfortunately, the only witness was the girl from the Evil Path.
The girl, gazing at Davey with a dazed look, turned pale.
When the gorilla charged towards him with hands outstretched to seize him, as if it had found the nemesis of its lifetime, Davey responded by spreading his arms wide as well and summoning his mana.
[Adamant Body Divine Art]
[Buddha’s Palm]
A golden stream of energy emanated from Davey's hands, quickly enveloping them and transforming into massive hands. He then engaged in a test of strength, gripping the gorilla's hands directly in a power struggle.
Of course, the confrontation did not last long.
As Davey and the gorilla locked hands and faced power versus power, the gorilla's face started twisting grotesquely. It let out strange gasps and contorted its body in an unnatural manner.
After subduing the gorilla with brute force, Davey kicked its butt and shouted, "Come back stronger!!"
“...”
In the meantime, the girl from the Evil Path could do nothing but stare dazedly.
"What are you doing? Aren't you coming along?" Davey called out to the girl after a moment, breaking her out of her daze.
Startled, the girl quickly followed him, shouting back, "Hey! What on earth are you?!"
"I’m just a person," Davey replied nonchalantly.
"No! I mean, how did you just...?" the girl, still in shock.
"Ever heard of a strength contest?"
Flabbergasted, she exhaled sharply in disbelief.
"Hey... wait up! Let's go together!" the girl said.
Despite her confusion, she hurriedly walked behind him, still trying to keep up.

A massive tiger prowled in front of Davey. He maintained distance and also moved around, keeping pace with it until they had walked a full circle.
Initially, the girl from the Evil Path had been watching Davey with a tense face, but now she seemed exhausted by the same situation happening over and over again, so she just silently watched him with a troubled expression on her face.
At the moment the beast lunged towards him, Davey attacked the tiger without hesitation.
Naturally, the giant tiger bit him right between the neck and the shoulder, with the full power of its formidable jaws. Davey, in turn, viciously bit into the tiger's neck.
Given that Davey had been using the Adamant Body Divine Art since entering the cave, the tiger's teeth stood no chance of penetrating his skin.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmConversely, Davey's jaw, enhanced by layers of buff magic, boasted a brute force that the massive tiger could not withstand.
Despite the tiger's desperate cries and attempts to shake Davey off, he clung on tenaciously. Ultimately, the beast could not endure the pain and collapsed.
"Let's not do this again," Davey muttered, spitting out the fur stuck in his mouth from the encounter.
The girl looked at him and asked, "I've heard there are many despicable folks in the Righteous Path, but this is the first time I've seen someone as insane as you."
Unable to hide her astonishment, she followed Davey as he walked away.
"But isn't this test a bit too difficult?" the girl questioned.
This generation’s prodigies were expected to be at the Peak realm. Yet, the monsters they were encountering now were giant beasts too formidable for even the martial artists at the Peak realm to handle with ease. Apart from the massive gorilla and the tiger, they had also seen a horrifying spider, as well as a hornet with a stinger so large that it seemed that whoever was stung would go into shock on the spot.
Despite the Evil Path prodigies being strong, was it really fair to confront them with such creatures in a test? It was as if the intention was to eliminate all participants in the martial arts competition.
"Shouldn’t you launch a surprise attack or something?" Davey queried.
"What?" the girl responded.
"It's an opportunity to eliminate your competitor when they're off guard," he retorted, echoing the girl’s earlier statement.
"I doubt it would be successful anyway. Also, unlike those despicable Righteous Path folks, we don't repay kindness with enmity," she declared.
If the Evil Path were to commit any foul deeds, they would do so openly! That was the principle of the Evil Path Martial Alliance, the very doctrine of the heretic path.
Conversely, many in the Righteous Path Martial Alliance would not tolerate such a mindset. There was no need to argue which side was better or worse.
"This is strange... The level of difficulty for a test seems too high!" the girl exclaimed.
"Is it too high?" Davey asked.
"Yes! You’re the one who’s abnormally strong!! The giant beasts you've just defeated shouldn't even be part of this test!"
"Then there must have been a mistake," Davey concluded.
At Davey's response, the girl retorted with a hint of sarcasm, "The Evil Path's Assassin Unit and the Righteous Path's Black Wind Squadron, along with officials from both nations are hosting the test, and you're telling me such an incident occurs without any action taken? That doesn’t make sense..."
"If not that, then perhaps both sides are unaware of this situation," Davey suggested calmly. "Or, if that’s not the case, then maybe both sides wish for your death."
“...”
Silence followed his words as she simply looked at him, offering no reply.
"Ah, we've arrived."
Soon after, they reached the grand martial arts competition arena, surrounded by a vast number of spectators, where a loud cheer began to erupt.
The cheers marked the end of the second test.
"This is getting bothersome; I wish they would start already..." Davey sighed softly as he watched the scene unfold.
