When they’d left, Logan raked a hand through his hair. “How sweet! They left just after a few minutes.”
Lola cast him a sidelong glance. Does he really not know why Sophia left? It’s because he’s too corny, so she
couldn’t stand it! Returning to her seat, she sat down and stared at him. “Do you not have anything to do the entire
day? You’ve spent almost the whole day here.”
Logan pondered for a moment before answering, “I do. My business is to keep you company here.”
This cheesy pick-up line is really revolting! Looking at him, Lola pointed at the chair by the door. “Go and sit over
there. Stop jabbering in my ear.”
Logan glanced over at the chair as well. I used to sit in that chair and play mobile games while waiting for
her! Retracting his gaze, he lifted his eyes to her. “Are you sure you don’t need me to keep you company here?”

“Okay.” Logan was surprisingly docile, turning away and leaving without a single word of objection.
Out of his line of sight, the corners of Lola’s mouth lifted. Truly, my shyness doesn’t even last for five minutes with
him. I was a tad shy this morning when he came to seek me out, but all those feelings vanished into thin air in no
time when he later started blathering. This man is really infuriating, so much so that I’ve got an urge to beat him
up!
After going out the door, Logan leaned back against the chair with his legs crossed, looking very much like a fat cat.
Lola stared at him for a good while before retracting her gaze. Why am I getting ever closer to this scoundrel?
In the afternoon, she had nothing much to do, so after she was done going through the documents, she reclined in
her chair and took a breather.
Logan was again playing mobile games, perhaps having unmuted the device since he was calling out to someone
else on the other end. When she heard him, Lola gazed at his profile. As she continued staring, she couldn’t help
giggling. This man is just like a kid!
After sitting there for a while, her cell phone rang. She swiftly snagged it up for a look, only to see that it was a call
from her hometown, so she took the call right away. “What is it, Dad?”
“It’s nothing major.
I just wanted to ask when you’d be free to make a trip home.” Mr. Hunt’s voice was robust. Surprise suffused Lola.
“I’ve just gone back a while ago. What’s wrong? Did something happen at home?” Mr. Hunt sighed. “It’s nothing
serious. It’s just that your grandmother’s death anniversary is approaching, so I was thinking that you can visit her

Lola covered her face. What is Dad talking about? Grandma is old-school, so what kind of help can she
render? Then, she chuckled. “I’ll make some arrangements to take a trip back when I’ve got some time off.” She
indeed wanted to go back and visit her grandmother’s grave for her death anniversary.
In the past, she didn’t have much time off due to the nature of her job, so it’d been many years since she’d last
visited her grandmother’s grave. Mr. Hunt grunted in assent. “Oh yes, I have another question for you. Has that
Shawn Long contacted you recently?” Lola didn’t answer directly. Instead, she asked, “Did his family go causing
trouble again?” Smacking his lips, Mr. Hunt replied, “They didn’t exactly cause trouble. They just came over to
persuade us and ask whether there’s any chance of reconciliation. Both the Longs and the matchmaker came over.
It’s quite a huge group every time, so it indeed doesn’t look too good when our neighbors are witnessing it all.”
