Chapter 1640 Estranged Friendship
She knew who Sophia was, since she had looked her up online. Cindy also knew how special Sophia was to Ian as
well. However, all she did was purse her lips and look away, pretending she didn’t see it.
Ian picked his phone up, but instead of taking it immediately, he went to his room and closed the door.
Cindy couldn’t suspect him of cheating, but it still made her feel uneasy. Then, she turned around and went to sit
beside Aurora. “I want to sleep with you tonight, Aurora. Seriously.” She leaned her head on Aurora’s shoulder.
Aurora patted her head. “So you aren’t forgiving him, are you?”
Cindy pursed her lips, but she said nothing. Given their relationship, she didn’t think he needed to be forgiven by

were. Not after that chaotic kiss.
At the same time, Ian took the call the moment he went into his room. “Ian!” Sophia immediately said.
“It’s me. What is it? Anything you need?”
Sophia chuckled. “Why? Can’t I call you for just a chat?” She was joking, but he could hear the complaint in it. After
all, why wouldn’t she? They used to be best friends, but they weren’t anymore.
Ian knew he said the wrong thing, so he explained, “I don’t mean that. I just thought you had something going on.”
Sophia sighed. “Logan says you’re treating us to a meal tomorrow, so I thought why not have it at my place? Since I
want to treat you guys as well, we can just have this one meal.”
Ian frowned, but he didn’t reply immediately.
Sophia waited for a minute before saying, “I mean, you might have to go somewhere for your job at any time, so I
don’t want to delay this in case you can’t free up your time. That’s why I want to do it sooner. If you don’t want to
merge the meals, then we’ll have it at my place tomorrow, and you can treat us next time. What do you think?”
Ian wasn’t refusing her. He would have said yes immediately in the past, but with Cindy here, he wanted to be a bit
formal. He wanted to introduce her during the dinner, but now that Sophia had changed the plan, he sighed. “I’m
just trying to say that it’s discourteous of me if you’re the one being the host all the time. Fine. I’ll go to your place
tomorrow. If we have time, we can eat out.”
Sophia smiled. “Don’t think too much about it. We’re all friends, so don’t be so formal. I care about our friendship.”
Ian sighed silently and looked up. He didn’t feel anything after hearing that. If it was in the past, he’d be upset, but
not now. “Yeah, sure,” he said curtly.

Sophia noticed it was getting awkward, as if they weren’t close anymore, so she ended the call right there.
After that, he turned around to look at the bed. Apparently, Cindy didn’t take up a lot of space earlier, and she
didn’t even use the blanket. She’s starting to get too careful at my place. It didn’t sit right with him, but he couldn’t
complain about it either.
He stayed there for a while before going out. Aurora and Cindy were holding their phones, and judging from their
conversation, Cindy was teaching Aurora how to play a mobile game. Aurora looked excited, for it was the first time
she played mobile games.
Ian stood at the doorway, staring at them. Nobody would question it if I said they were mother and daughter. Hm, a
daughter-in-law counts as a daughter, I… What am I thinking? He wondered why he had that kind of idea, but he
squashed it immediately.
Cindy and Aurora played a match, and it ended in Aurora’s total loss.
