Chapter 1729 Helping in the Kitchen
The riskiness of their behavior combined with the fact that they had only gotten together recently caused a sudden
pang of guilt in Cindy’s heart.
Hence, she pushed Ian away while saying, “Alright, enough. I’m going to make lunch because I’m hungry. Aren’t you
hungry?”
Indeed, he was somewhat ravenous, but not in the way that she described.
So, he leaned against the headboard and stared at her. “Nope.”
While she disregarded him, she tidied her clothes and hair before heading toward the door. “Even if you aren’t,
Aurora must be, so we’re going to have lunch whether you’re coming or not.”
When Cindy opened the door and emerged from the room, Aurora had yet to emerge. It was likely that the older
woman was still either napping or looking at her phone.
Nonetheless, Cindy took several deep breaths to mask her guilt.
After that, she went to grab the ingredients needed for lunch from the refrigerator, whereupon she heard the door

At first, she thought it was Aurora, but when she quickly turned to look, she discovered that it was Ian.
After their tussle in bed, several of his shirt buttons were undone and exposed his broad chest.
Yet, he clearly hadn’t smoothed his clothing before coming out of the room.
While glancing toward Aurora’s room, Cindy hissed, “Couldn’t you have properly worn your shirt before coming
out?”
As Ian swaggered toward her, he asked, “What’s there to be embarrassed about?”
It was evident he feared nothing, for even after coming over, he cradled her cheek and gave her a peck.
His action had scared her so much that she nearly jumped out of her skin.
“Behave yourself,” she warned him in a low voice, “or there’ll be hell for you to pay later.”
Her faux-ferocity only made him want to laugh.
Nonetheless, he nodded to signify his cooperation. “Alright, I know.”
With that, Cindy turned and went back to the kitchen.
Naturally, Ian followed her in, but instead of saying that he would help, he simply stood behind her and slung his
arms around her waist.
An exasperated Cindy smacked the back of his hand. “Will you stop that? Aurora will see us once she comes out of
her room!”
The stubborn Ian propped his chin on her shoulder like what he did before. “So what if she sees? We’re not doing
anything that bad.”
As he spoke, his breath tickled her earlobe, turning her whole ear red.
“I still think we’re being inappropriate,” she responded in a voice that trembled mildly.
He turned his head to kiss her ear. “There’s nothing inappropriate about what we’re doing. My mom will
understand. I thought all the young people would behave this way?”
Only someone truly shameless could say that with such self-confidence!
Cindy still felt a bit uneasy, so she protested, “I won’t be able to cook with you holding onto me like that.”
With that, she placed the vegetables in her hand aside. “If you have nothing to do, you can help me wash these.”
Ian slowly retracted his arms before rolling up his sleeves and as he stood next to her, he behaved himself as he
rinsed the vegetables.

might still seek you out.”
As he rinsed the vegetables, he answered, “Even if Leah causes trouble for me, nothing good will ever come of it. If
anything, it’ll only make the old man loathe her even more. So, if she has any common sense, she’ll stop for a
while.”
Since Cindy was still somewhat worried, she pursed her lips. “They spoke so arrogantly through the phone the other
day, though. I don’t think they’re the type to concede defeat easily.”
“It’s fine,” Ian answered carelessly. “I have something on them, so they wouldn’t dare to be rash.”
Moments after they finished cleaning the vegetables, Aurora came out of her room.
It was unlikely that she had napped as she stretched and yawned after coming out. “Well, well, looks like Ian is
growing up. I can’t believe he’ll know how to come to the kitchen to help out. She refused to head over and assist
them. Rather, she stood at the kitchen doorway and continued while reminiscing on the past, “When I was taking
care of him before, he never even helped me once. Not only did he not assist me, he scowled at me every day like I
had sent his girlfriend away when he was the one angering her so much that she simply left.”
