Chapter 1739 The Old Man Wants to See You
Aurora wasn’t someone who could easily be manipulated by others. If she met Leah, the minor consequence would
be a quarrel whereas if the situation worsened, both women could even be involved in a physical fight.
If that happened, it would be difficult to tie up all the loose ends.
On top of that, Ian was reluctant to involve Aurora in the Morgan Family’s affairs.
She was also not suitable to be involved in the amendment of Bryce’s will because of her current position.
By then, it would be much easier for Leah to manipulate Aurora’s weakness against her.
In Ian’s eyes, Leah and her sons were rotten people. Even if all parties shared common goals and benefits, he
would not consider forming an alliance with them.
Cindy returned the phone to Ian. “Who did you call just now? And what did you guys talk about?”
He turned around to lean with crossed arms against the balcony railing. “I called Logan earlier with some secrets to
spill about them. I want him to help me publish them.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAfter hearing his explanation, she instantly knew what was going on. She went over and hugged his arm while
resting her head on his shoulders. “I wonder what that family is thinking. Troubles never cease with them. I can’t
even imagine how they used to bully you in the past.”
Ian caressed Cindy’s head. “I’m fine. I’m spending most of my time away, so I don’t really interact with them
much.”
When he was more capable, he would distance himself from them altogether.
Apart from that, Leah’s relationship with Bryce was lukewarm. Sometimes when Ian went back for a visit, she
pretended to be a good person in front of Bryce.
Even though she did not warm up to him, she didn’t insult him like before.
After waiting for a while, Aurora called them from outside. “Hey, what are you guys doing in the room? I’m still
waiting for you here. Have you forgotten about me?”
Cindy immediately straightened her posture and sighed. “Mrs. Morgan is keeping tabs on you. Be careful.”
Ian merely smiled. “Don’t worry. She will get used to it in a few days.”
Now that he suddenly had a girlfriend, he couldn’t contain his excitement. Why is Mom so sensitive? She is even
aware of this.
By the time Ian and Cindy walked out of the room, Aurora had already leaned against the couch with the remote
control in her hand as she pressed the buttons. Even after the longest time, she still couldn’t decide on a television
show that she fancied.
In fact, she also did not have much to do in the past, but she had a man with her.
Both of them would be involved with arguments and sometimes even physical fights when they lost their tempers.
Hence, her day was full of events.
Even though she also didn’t have much to do now, she felt even more bored without any apparent reason. Teasing
Ian and Cindy didn’t help to alleviate her boredom.
Ian walked over and leaned against the couch. “If you have some time tomorrow, follow me to the hospital.”
Aurora did not think too much about it. “Are you under the weather?”
“Nope, I mainly want to pay the old man a visit,” he said flatly.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe immediately sat upright and looked at him with expectation. “Is that old man dying soon? Is he kicking the
bucket? Tell me the truth.”
Cindy couldn’t restrain her laughter anymore. “You are way too happy. It’s fine to just feign sadness on the surface.
If you visit him in this state tomorrow, even if he is about to kick the bucket, he would be so enraged that he would
come back to life after seeing your attitude.”
“Why should I pretend? I’m not going to do that. If he is really dying, I’m going to set off some fireworks in
celebration. I’m even going to throw a party,” a stubborn Aurora answered.
Ian shook his head in exasperation. “He is not dying; he is alive and kicking.”
Her good spirits immediately waned and she limply returned to her previous position. “Then, why are you asking
me to visit him? If I go there, I will only stir up his anger. Are you planning for me to enrage him by bringing me
there?”
He replied, “The old man is the one who asked you to go over. I think he has something to tell you.”
Aurora’s expression froze as she stared at him intently. In that instant, she was silent.
It was obvious that she did not really believe what he said.
