Chapter 1864 Streak of Good Luck
This was how it always had been whenever Cindy tagged along with Ian to work, but as opposed to boredom, she
was more laid-back then. Maybe she was starting to grow ambitious and all she could think about was her
upcoming designer job.
Perhaps she had been less grounded with a more idle mind before she was hired.
However, now that she was indeed hired, she found herself dwelling on her thoughts more often than ever. She
kept thinking about how she would go about her work in the future and how she would shadow those celebrity
designers to pick up a skill or two.
She was drowning in these thoughts when her phone vibrated briefly.
Snapping out of her reverie, she quickly pulled out of her phone and saw that there was a Facebook friend request.
Glancing at the profile, she noted that it was the girl from the interview at Paramount Group yesterday.
Without wasting time, Cindy accepted the request and the girl swiftly texted her a long series of texts. The girl filled

The designer was someone Cindy had heard of, and to some extent, the designer was something like the Yulia
Noble of the fashion industry. While Yulia reigned supreme among photographers, the designer was someone of
equal fame in the designer circle.
In all honesty, Cindy thought that the designer was far superior than Yulia in terms of capability. She was, after all, a
designer who wasn’t afraid to be hands-on with her work and her work had been featured in several international
exhibitions.
Cindy was still caught up in the surprise of it all. The girl from the Paramount Group had arranged for her to be an
apprentice under a designer whom she had only seen on the news and magazines. To be the person’s disciple was
something Cindy never dared to dream of. She wasn’t sure what was going on, but she seemed to be really lucky
these days and everything was working out well for her.
Hastily thanking the girl for the details, Cindy hesitated before asking about how such arrangements were made.
It took a while for the girl to answer, but she explained that the company was the one who made all the
arrangements.
Upon hearing this, Cindy thanked her once more and kept her phone.
Next to her was the driver, who turned to give her a bemused look as he asked, “You look happy. Good news is
meant to be shared, you know, so spill.”
She instinctively touched her own cheeks and found herself grinning from ear to ear. She parted her lips before she
replied thoughtfully, “I just think that I’ve been on a streak of good luck these days. I don’t know what’s going on
either, but everything seems to be working out well for me.”
The driver’s lips curled into a smile as he placed his arms behind his neck and leaned further into his seat. “Well,
that’s a good thing.” Having said that, he paused before hesitantly asking, “By the way, I saw the news about how
Ian’s family have settled things on their end; they publicized the will and everything.”
“Ah.” Cindy said, “Yes, they did publicize it. I’m sure he’ll ask his attorney to handle matters from now on.”
The driver fixed his eyes ahead and pointed out breezily, “Stick with Ian and you’re set for life.”
She pursed her lips pensively and replied, “I certainly hope so.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmShe had made up her mind on certain things, but that didn’t mean she hadn’t thought about the worst case
scenarios. There was no guarantee that a piece of paper validating her marriage to Ian would bring them peace
and quiet, especially when it came to their dynamics.
As things were, she could be happy for him, but she wanted things to play out naturally between them. Don’t get
your hopes up too high, or they’ll crash even harder.
Cindy had been sitting in the car for quite some time when a nearby car rolled to a stop.
There were a couple of cars parked outside the set, all of which ferried the celebrities who were on the show today,
so the arrival of this car hardly drew any attention.
However, Ian’s driver was far more observant and one glance was all it took for him to jerk his chin in the direction
of the idling car. “I wonder which bigshot this might be. That car is a beauty, for sure.”
The other cars parked outside were minivans which all looked to be of the same model, but the car that had just
pulled up was a flashy sports model that easily stood out.
When Cindy heard the driver’s remark, she followed his line of vision and took in the sports car as well. She didn’t
know much about cars, but even she could tell that the car came with a hefty price tag.
