Chapter 1887 A Fair Competition
While Cindy leaned back in her seat and quietly listened, Yulia heaved a sigh of relief. “Not long after that, Ian
participated in a talent show, much to my surprise. In fact, I even helped canvass for him.” Yulia chuckled loud
enough to be heard when she talked about that. “It was fate that brought us together. Don’t you think so?”
“Fate? What’re you talking about?” Cindy demanded. “You just met him somewhere else by coincidence and
subsequently saw him on TV. What did fate have to do with that?”
Yulia shifted her gaze to Cindy, reacting with an ambiguous expression that looked like she was smiling. “You could
say that if that’s what makes you comfortable.”
In the meantime, Cindy was reluctant to hear what Yulia had to say from the beginning. Thus, she disagreed with
Yulia’s statement, thinking it had nothing to do with whether she felt comfortable with her words. Soon, she replied,

In response, Yulia stared at Cindy, showing hints about her true nature by looking askance at the latter without
herself knowing it. On the other hand, Cindy jutted her chin firmly, refusing to back down as she found herself at an
impasse with Yulia..
However, Yulia met Cindy’s gaze with a calm look, seemingly unconcerned about her agitation shortly before she
said, “I didn’t see you around Ian back then.”
“Of course, you didn’t see me around him.” Cindy knew Yulia would say that. “I was still a student back then, so
where do you think you would have seen me?”
Yulia nodded. “Oh, so that’s what it was.”
In that instant, Cindy had a feeling that Yulia was trying to challenge her for her relationship with Ian, but deep
down, she also believed Yulia had nothing to prove that they were lying as long as she and Ian stood their ground
firmly.
Soon, Yulia looked outside the glass wall and said, “When I first learned that you’re dating Ian, I was surprised
because you both didn’t strike me as a perfect match at all.”
Cindy directly replied, “I was just as surprised when I realized you’re into Ian because I didn’t think he would be your
type.”
Yulia paused but didn’t refute Cindy right away, which proved the latter’s suspicion to be correct. Soon, she curled
her lips and asked, “What do you think would be the type I like then?”
Cindy took a while to ponder and said, “Maybe someone who’s a corporate president, perhaps. Only someone like
that can keep you under his thumb.”
Yulia laughed out loud. “No! No! I don’t like to be submissive.”
It was at that moment that Cindy saw through Yulia’s possessive character, as she believed Yulia liked someone

keen sense of observation that they both had as women.
Deep down, she didn’t think her feelings for Ian were wrong, since Cindy and Ian were still not married to each
other. For that, she considered her love rivalry with Cindy a fair competition, in which they both contended equally
for the same man they loved.
As the two ladies continued to sit and talk in the lounge for the next half an hour, Yulia went on and on about how
much she knew Ian. On the other hand, Cindy merely remained a listener, occasionally downplaying her
relationship with Ian when Yulia asked her about that. After all, she didn’t want to reveal too much about herself and
Ian to Yulia, thinking it was unnecessary to do so.
Besides, she was also afraid that Yulia would discover anything questionable about her past with Ian and challenge
her with that. Because of that, she decided to be extra careful with what she told Yulia, whose wits she feared
would help her see through her.
In the end, Cindy heard her phone ringing and realized it was Ian who had called her. Staying where she was, she
reached for her phone and answered the call just when Ian asked her where she was. After brief contemplation,
she told him her location, mentioning a lounge with three opaque walls and one glass wall.
