Chapter 1982 Ignoring the Gossip
Cindy could guess how that turned out. "She couldn't stand you not having time for her, so you guys broke up?"
Gary frowned. "More or less. It was a bit more complex than that though. It didn't end too well, and the breakup
was a disaster."
Cindy nodded silently. "Love is always the strongest in the beginning. Everyone must have their own reason for
breaking up in the end though. We can't point the blame at a single person. If we walked a mile in someone else's
shoes, we could probably resolve issues more peacefully."
Gary smiled. "Perhaps, but not everyone sees things that way. Sometimes, when you're deeply trapped by your own
emotions, it's hard to take care of your partner."

that their partner made sacrifices too. They couldn't ever see their own problems until years had passed after the
breakup. Only then could they understand what they did wrong, but it was already pointless to even think of that
anymore at that point.
Gary sent Cindy back to the company after they had their lunch. He parked his car not far away from the company,
but this time, Cindy's colleague saw his car while they were on their way back. Gary's car wasn't too conspicuous,
but it was still an expensive one nonetheless.
The employees could see that, and they always wanted to know the latest gossip about Cindy. When they saw Cindy
getting out of the car, some stopped and craned their necks to look.
Cindy saw them as well, but since they weren't friends, she didn't even bother to smile at them. She ignored them
and walked into the company after saying goodbye to Gary.
Her colleagues followed behind her, and when they came back to the office, they called the other employees over
and whispered among themselves.
Cindy didn't care about them. Lunchtime wasn't over yet, and since she had nothing to do, she went on with the
next draft. She was getting used to it, and every draft wouldn't take her too long now, though she wondered if she
had made any improvements.
She had memorized all the things Serena told her and tried her best to steer clear of any pitfalls, but she was still
unsure about herself if no one gave her any comments. She then texted Naomi and said she would send her draft
over. She wanted Naomi to ask her mentor's opinion about the draft.
Naomi was happy to do that. "Sure. Send it to me whenever you're ready."
Cindy heaved a sigh of relief. She spent the whole afternoon coming up with two drafts, then sent them to Naomi.

Since Naomi was still working, she went to see her mentor and asked for her opinion. At the same time, Cindy
picked another theme to work on while she waited for the feedback.
If Serena would be absent for a while, Cindy had a feeling she could make a draft for every theme in the file Serena
gave her. The teachers loved Cindy back when she was in college. She was a hardworking student, and she had
some talent in the field.
She thought her teacher might have been trying to cheer her up, as she said that if Cindy were to keep up the good
work after graduation, she would be firmly established in the field at the very least. That encouragement gave her
a lot of drive, but it was a shame that she tossed that aside after graduation and worked in a field that had nothing
to do with her studies.
However, if she hadn't worked as a celebrity's assistant, she wouldn't have met Ian. If she had worked as a designer
straight out of college, she might have ended up like Naomi.
