Chapter 1995 Argument
Before she could say anything, Aurora asked, "Were you with Gary earlier? I saw you guys at the neighborhood's
entrance."
Cindy froze up. "Were you there? I didn't see you.Why didn't you call me?"
Aurora sighed. "I was at home, but someone saw you, and they posted a photo in the homeowners' group. It looked
like you."
Cindy wasn't in that group, but Ian was, though it was only his alternate account that he seldom used. I wonder if
he'll see that. She took a deep breath. "Send me the photo. They might have gotten the wrong person."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAurora chuckled. "Do you convince yourself like that every time you run into something?" She hung up and sent the
photo to Cindy.
Cindy took one look and saw that it was indeed her standing beside Gary's car, but luckily, Gary wasn't in there.
Cindy clicked her tongue. What kind of people would take this kind of photo?
She paced back and forth in the living room, wondering if Ian had seen the photo, and she wondered how she
should bring this up. She was going to call Ian when she came back, telling him that she had dinner with Gary. Her
telling him and him finding out were two different things, and now she was in a pickle.
Just when she was still coming up with a plan, her phone rang, and she shivered in fear. She looked down and saw
Ian's name on the screen. Calm down, calm down. He almost never logs onto that account. Maybe he didn't see it.
After she convinced herself, she took the call and said as sweetly as she could, "Oh, are you done with work, Ian?
Had a busy day?"
Ian sneered. "Hard to say. But you, my dear, must have been quite free."
The moment he said that, she knew he had found out that she went to have dinner with Gary. Gary's car and his car
plate was in the photo, and Ian must have recognized it. She sighed and scratched her ear. What should I do? I lost
my chance, and if I explain myself now, it would seem like I'm trying to hide something. A moment later, she said,
"Yeah, I'm not busy. I get bored when I come home every day."
Ian grunted. "So you went out with someone else to have dinner and didn't take my call."
Cindy laughed as sweetly as she could. "I didn't hear it. I would have picked it up if I did."
Ian wouldn't accept that explanation. "What did you do? Why couldn't you hear my call?"
Cindy didn't dare to tell him that she took a stroll with him because it would make him madder. She said, "Nothing.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJust dinner, that's all. He helped me, and I wanted to treat him as thanks. Nothing else. Don't think too much about
it. I wouldn't have gone out with him if he hadn't helped me. Don't you believe me?"
Ian sneered.
Cindy didn't want to continue the topic, so she asked, "When are you coming back? Tomorrow?"
Ian said, "Today, or that's what I planned. You didn't take my call, so I'll have to come back another day. I don't know
when that will be."
Cindy couldn't say anything to that. She sighed silently. Why did they have to capture that photo out of everything?
And that person's asking for it. Couldn't they just keep it a secret and ask their friends instead of posting it to the
group?
