Chapter 2167 Cunning and Sly

Although Cindy hadn't had anything to eat, she told Ian that she had just eaten some pasta and was working on her

design draft now. Then, she proudly bragged to Ian about the task which Serena had assigned to her. From her

uplifting tone, Ian could tell that Cindy was happy with the change in her career.

While he might not be able to relate, he still reacted happily and congratulated Cindy before they went on to talk

about their future. For the next few moments, the couple went about their conversation pleasantly like they always

had ever since dating each other.

Although Ian was initially upset about the matter between Cindy and Gary when he found out about it, he quickly

put that unhappy matter behind him and carried on with his life. Soon, their conversation came to an end when it

was time for Ian to continue filming.

Meanwhile, Cindy returned to her room after hanging up the call. Upon brushing her teeth, she grabbed her

previous drafts and started working on them. For some reason, she felt awake and energetic as her mind was

flooded with plenty of ideas and inspiration. She then went on to amend the original details in her drawing and

added a few new ones until she was satisfied.

Then, she put away her drafts and lay in her bed while trying to empty her mind. In fact, it was Cindy's first time

feeling so relaxed in a long while. While lying in bed, she placed both hands on her stomach and closed her eyes,

but instead of falling asleep, she fell into a calm and meditative state.

A few minutes later, Cindy's mind was filled with beautiful and sweet scenarios. While she had been through a lot of

tough times with Ian, all she saw this time was an ideal world in which she was living happily with him. There were

moments the two of them sneaked out and played, as well as the moments they kissed each other in front of the

fountain, and the time they finally married each other.

As her mind was full of exciting and sweet images, she began to recall some wise words; someone once told her

that one plus one was greater than two. She didn't understand what it meant back then, but at that moment, it

finally seemed to dawn on her.

Deep down, Cindy's subconsciously believed that Ian was also happy to be with her. When she first worked with Ian,

she noticed his poker face, which was unlike his usual smiling face in front of the cameras.

While the man's expression usually indicated that he was either unhappy or calm, she now realized that Ian was just

being himself, for he also had the same expression on his face while watching TV on the couch alone. Therefore,

she believed their lives had changed for the better after becoming a couple, thinking that was how a healthy

relationship should be.

While Cindy continued to lie down in bed, she suddenly heard someone opening the door from the outside. Thus,

she quickly opened her eyes and got down from the bed to head outside her room, only to see a drunk Aurora after

dinner. The woman walked barefoot into the living room and collapsed onto the couch directly.

jobs are you working in a day? Why did you have to stay out so late?"

"I didn't want to. Those people only had time at night." Aurora let out a sigh. In fact, Cindy almost thought someone

was trying to set Aurora up if she hadn't managed to get herself out of trouble every time.

"You're stressing your stomach out. Take care of yourself before your body gives out." Cindy gave Aurora a glass of

water.

Aurora sat up straight and waved her hand. "It's not that easy. They won't be happy if I turn them down." After that,

she let out a sigh and added, "Those people are cunning and sly. Apart from playing buddy-buddy with me, they

don't know anything else. What choice do I have?"

Cindy couldn't understand and relate to Aurora's situation, so she only let out a sigh in response.
