Chapter 2170 I Have At Least This Much Faith In You
Leah's issue arose before Ian's scandal even subsided, and now, people were saying he lived a promiscuous
lifestyle. It seemed another wave of public opinion toward Ian's scandal this time would be coming again.
Aurora shook her head in response. "This is the most troubling part about being in showbiz."
The industry wasn't just madly competitive, but the dissensions because of resources were severe too.
In showbiz, there was no such thing as long-lasting friends or enemies, only perpetual gains.
At that, Aurora leaned her head back and gazed at the ceiling while sighing. "In the past, I always dreamed of
returning to showbiz. I wanted to live in the limelight, but having experienced so many things, I know the industry
isn't as great as I've imagined it to be."
However, she had nowhere else to go other than returning to the industry.
Even though she had found other ways to make ends meet, her success never amounted to anything all these
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtyears, so she wanted to return to showbiz even when she was already old and gray.
After all, she had no other choice.
Cindy followed after Aurora and leaned her head back against the couch. "Everyone has their own path to walk on.
Perhaps you're meant to take this road. Ian can be rough about dealing with issues, so it's natural he would upset
many people. Someone with his temperament isn't fit for showbiz."
She was right about that, and Aurora was also aware that Ian would have a tough time surviving in the industry with
his temperament.
After all, he was too wayward; anyone who wished to work in showbiz had to throw their temperament away.
Everything in that circle was fake, and one would have to wear a mask while smiling and waving at everyone daily.
Aurora's tipsiness returned soon after, so she retired to her room.
Cindy, on the other hand, sat on the couch for a while longer before getting up.
She checked her phone to find a message from Gary had come in sometime earlier.
It wasn't anything important. He was just telling her to notify him immediately if Lucy gave her a hard time in the
future, and he would deal with the woman himself.
After staring at the text for a while, Cindy ultimately deleted it, pretending to have never seen his message before
returning to her bedroom.
Cindy wanted to go to bed as soon as she went into her room, but her phone rang again just after she switched the
lights off and lay down.
But because she knew well who could be on the other end of the line, she hurriedly grabbed her phone, and sure
enough, it was Ian.
"Are you done for the day?" she asked right after answering it, knowing full well why Ian had called.
The man hummed in response. "Just did, and I just saw the news. Have you? You have no idea how livid I am right
now. What the f*ck is all this?!"
"I did. It is pretty ridiculous," said Cindy as a giggle escaped her. "Could you have pissed someone off on set?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIan pursed his lips at that. He didn't know if he had upset anyone either. After all, the cast and crew were on friendly
terms.
But who was to say someone wouldn't instigate petty schemes in the shadows?!
He had seen the picture attached to the news. Someone had taken it when he was chatting with Valerie, and he
was certain it was taken on set. Hence, he had no clue as to who was behind this.
That said, the person wouldn't gain anything from revealing such news as Valerie had just made her relationship
public, whereas he had a long-term girlfriend.
Ian scrolled through the comments when he saw the news. The majority didn't believe the news when it came out,
and nearly half of them thought it was a groundless claim.
There wasn't anything scandalous about the news or the picture. If anything, it only meant that Ian and Valerie
were on friendly terms or that the production environment was welcoming.
It would be a stretch to arrogate that the two had something hush-hush between them.
Ian fell silent for a moment before drawling, "You have, huh? It's really not what it says. Nothing is going on, I
promise."
Cindy hummed in response, then reassured him by saying, "Don't worry. I didn't think there was anything to it. I
have at least this much faith in you."
