Chapter 2196 An Act
Lucy chuckled. "You should be getting married by now. I see that Ian's fans have accepted you too."
"Well, it's true that people no longer oppose our relationship, but he still has some plans for his work. Our current
relationship is not much different from being married anyway, so I don't really care about that. His work is the most
important now," Cindy replied.
Then, Lucy added, "I'm not saying this to scare you, but you should take action soon. The entertainment industry is
complex, and there are many beautiful ladies around Ian. If you don't make a move, someone else might take your
place."
Just then, Serena chimed in, "It's best to be more open-minded about this kind of thing. If Ian is not loyal, getting
married now won't make a difference; he can still cheat after getting married. In other words, having a marriage
certificate doesn't impose a high level of constraint on a couple's relationship."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtCindy nodded and replied, "Exactly."
Lucy pressed her lips together, her face showing a nonchalant smile as she ended the conversation. Since then, she
didn't say much throughout lunch.
Cindy could tell that she wasn't very happy, and Lucy must have sensed that she and Serena were always in
agreement. Yet, she didn't think that she and Serena were being too much, for she just wanted to make sure Lucy
knew what to do when they had already made things so clear.
Serena footed the bill after lunch, and Cindy didn't fight for the bill with the two of them either. As an apprentice, it
wouldn't look good for her to fight with the two designers over who should be paying. Plus, the meal wasn't
expensive anyway.
When Serena went to pay the bill, only Lucy and Cindy were left in the private room. Lucy waited for a moment
before suddenly saying, "You seem to have a good relationship with Miss Warhol."
After being stunned for a moment, Cindy raised her brows. "Well, our relationship is fine. Mr. Kaufmann asked her
to take care of me, so she has been very kind to me."
Both Cindy and Lucy had entered the company through connections, so Cindy didn't try hiding that fact in front of
Lucy.
When Lucy heard that, she nodded. "I suspected as much, but Miss Warhol has always told the public that she's fair
and impartial, so I thought it was really like that."
Suddenly, Cindy laughed. "No matter how fair and impartial she is, she still has to listen to her superiors, right?
Wouldn't you do the same? Can you ignore Mr. Kaufmann's words?"
"You're right." Lucy pressed her lips together and chuckled.
After Serena finished paying the bill, she returned to the private room and notified the two of them. "Okay, we can
go now."
Hearing that, Cindy got up and grabbed her bag before heading out. When she passed by Serena, she looped her
arm through the woman's. "Thanks for treating us today. I'll treat you next time."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSerena was momentarily stunned, but after she looked at Cindy, she quickly went along with her. "It's just a meal.
But if you want to treat me next time, have Ian treat me to a fancy dinner."
After a laugh, Cindy replied, "Sure. I'll have Ian book a star-rated restaurant for us. You'll have to honor us with your
presence, Miss Warhol."
"Of course. I'll run there if I have to." Serena nodded.
The two of them continued to laugh and chat as they walked out of the restaurant with Lucy following behind. When
they reached the door, Serena said she needed to buy something and wouldn't be going back to the company just
yet. Then, she looked at Cindy. "Cindy, are you going back with Miss Harrison, or do you want to go for a short stroll
with me?" After saying that, she raised her hand to check the time. "We've got a bit of time left."
Cindy knew what she meant by that. Thus, she nodded before turning to Lucy. "I want to walk around with Miss
Warhol for a bit. Be safe on your way back, Miss Harrison."
After responding with an 'okay', Lucy turned around and walked toward her car.
Cindy and Serena stood by the roadside, watching Lucy's car drive away. Only then did Cindy withdraw her hand
from Serena's arm.
